Chick-fil-A drive-thru in Santa Ana, Calif., July 25, 2012.

Did Chick-fil-A have to alter its normal grand opening festivities for its new Laguna Hills, Calif. restaurant today because of a gay youth protest and media surge?

I'll be asking that question today as I report on the chain of events taking place at the restaurant in the Orange County city that's mostly known for its senior citizen community and is far removed from the more liberal town of Laguna Beach that's three miles away.

The Orange County Register is reporting that 100 campers in line to receive free meals were sent home sometime during last night. They were given vouchers to return, but it is unclear if that is standard operating proceedure for the franchise chain's other grand openings.
