While we were all horrified by the actions of Kermit Gosnell, we should likewise be horrified by the millions of babies killed since abortion was decriminalized, and by the number of lives lost because of contraception. A baby is a baby from the moment he is created, but most people either choose to ignore that fact or remain uneducated. We must learn from the horrors we have seen and vow to do whatever we can to ensure that life, in all stages, is respected and protected.
The dust has settled now; a brutal killer has been found guilty of murder. The cowardly abortionist chose life in prison instead of appealing his case, thus avoiding the possibility of facing the death penalty, and life goes on.
But in a very real sense, life will never be the same again—not for the families of the dead or for those left behind in the wake of his brutality.
And at a more fundamental level, this tragic story of one abortion practitioner should not disappear without some soul-searching on the part of each and every American. The fundamental question about this case that nobody wants to address is the irony of it. FULL POST

It’s tiny and seemingly innocuous, but what are the real effects of that small pill that millions of women ingest on a daily basis?
Angelina Jolie, in a New York Times op-ed, revealed that she has the mutated BRCA1 (pronounced brak-uh) gene, a condition that gave her an 87 percent chance of developing breast cancer. Jolie, whose mother died from the disease, decided to undergo a preventative double mastectomy in February: “I can tell my children that they don’t need to fear they will lose me to breast cancer.”
She closed her piece with this statement: “I choose not to keep my story private because there are many women who do not know that they might be living under the shadow of cancer.”
Although Jolie was referring to the estimated five percent of women who also carry the defective BRCA1 or BRCA2 gene, 12 million women in America live under the shadow of cancer that neither media nor the medical community wants to talk about—the proven link between breast cancer and contraceptive pills.
Florence Williams at Slate reported in 2010, “Last summer, in a study of more than 50,000 African American women, Boston University epidemiologist Lynn Rosenberg found a 65 percent increase in a particularly aggressive form of breast cancer among those who had ever taken the birth control pill. The risk doubles for those who had used the contraceptive within the past five years and had taken it for longer than 10 years.” FULL POST

Throughout history, during scandals and difficult times, men have stood up for what is right and for what should happen according to God’s will and the natural law. Today is no different, though we do not see this heroism as often as we should. Yet, in recent days, we have seen wonderful examples of this. Read today’s commentary for some inspirational stories.
The past few days have revealed an emerging trend which should be heartening to faithful Catholics who have for so long yearned for good news.
In Boston, a scandal erupted when Boston College extended an invitation to the pro-abortion prime minister of Ireland, Enda Kenny. Students for Life launched the “Not at BC” campaign, stating, “For any college to honor the man who would usher in the mass death of Irish preborn children is simply unconscionable!” FULL POST

Washington, D.C., May 10, 2013 -- Over the past months, the horror perpetrated on women and babies at Women’s Medical Society in Philadelphia, and the sensational serial murder trial of its operator Kermit Gosnell, continue to be totally ignored by mainstream media. Are they afraid to cover the story?
This blackout is necessary because the liberal media knows that Gosnell is far from the exception, and the abortion industry cannot survive scrutiny.
For the most part, only Fox News, local Philly media, and pro-life outlets like LifeNews, LifeSiteNews, and JillStanek.com doggedly reported the gruesome testimony of filth, unlicensed staff as young as 15 years old administering drugs or sonograms, Gosnell’s bizarre collection of severed baby parts, and drains clogged with baby remains and blood.
Even after complaints from his own staff and others, Gosnell was only busted in what authorities thought was a pill mill raid: Instead, they found a scene belonging in Saw or Texas Chainsaw Massacre. FULL POST

Mother’s Day is Sunday. Traditionally, it is a day to honor and respect all that mothers do and sacrifice for the sake of their children. And while this day is important, special, and necessary, we can’t help but wonder what our country would be like if we celebrated mothers every day. If mothers and babies were held in the highest regard, as they should be, each and every day of the year, think about the lives that could be spared. Think about the heartache that would not come about because a mother chose to abort her child. That would truly be a celebration.
In this era of motherhood by choice, we confront an oddity that I could never have imagined would occur in my lifetime. It becomes much more evident at this special time of year when we honor our mothers and express our sincere appreciation for the sacrifices they made for us during our childhood and beyond. FULL POST

When a society teaches its children to value things above people and to value personal pleasure above all else, what is the result? A society of people who no longer care about their own health, well-being, or future, or about the well-being of others. This misguided notion of what is important leads them into a dangerous lifestyle, and this is where a seemingly innocuous little pill enters. Yet if you delve into this pill—not only what it does, but what it represents—you will find a horror story to rival some of the best. Except that this is reality.
The dictionary states that the definition of diverse is one thing differing from another. It further defines diversity as a noun meaning variety.
So my question is whether or not the morning-after pill—Plan B—is but a type of vulgar diversity that includes abortion, in vitro fertilization, same sex attraction, and destruction of marriage as we know it. FULL POST

America awaits the verdict in the murder trial of abortionist Kermit Gosnell. What is still not making the news is that the Gosnell house of horrors is merely an unintended glimpse into the daily reality of the abortion industry.
What Gosnell was doing is no different than what happens in Planned Parenthood, NARAL Pro–Choice, and other abortion clinics over 1.2 million times every year. It stems from the same mindset found in any abortuary in any building in any small town community or big city.
He named his house of horrors Women’s Medical Society. It sounded so nice and clean, almost alike a Victorian society of gentile women. That’s all the Pennsylvania authorities and “pro-choicers” wanted to see.
In reality, Gosnell happily worked in foul conditions and was cavalier about death to the point of pathology. But, the abortions for which he is on trial, the murders that he committed, in the end are like any abortion—inflicting death on the most innocent for personal profit.
Gosnell just didn’t bother with fancy window dressing. In that sense, his operations were more honest than most: Abortion is a filthy business—a white-tiled shiny abortion chamber does not change that. FULL POST

We all know how easy it is to become sensitized to something—whether it be violence on TV, song lyrics on the radio, or something else entirely. But what kind of nation do we live in when we find the majority of people sensitized to the killing of innocent babies? For 40 years now, it has been legal for a mother to have her tiny child killed. For 40 years, too few tears have been shed for these babies. And now we discover a man like Kermit Gosnell, who devalues life so much that he stabs it out of a baby with a pair of scissors. This is what the last 40 years has brought us. What will happen in the next 40?
Where did actions such as those taken by abortionist Kermit Gosnell begin? Is there a logical explanation for practices that reflect such a callous disregard for human life? FULL POST

How does humanity get to the point where a person can actually feel comfortable telling another human being to flush her baby down the toilet? This sickening remark, and the mentality behind it, are permeating our society. As we see more and more houses of horror, we realize just how unconcerned most people are about human life, and we have to wonder how bad it will get.
The title of this article actually comes from a quote from an abortion facility employee in Bronx, New York. The live report came out thanks to the heroic efforts of the LIVE ACTION team of undercover investigators.
Such reports prove again that surgical abortion is a direct act that employs the use of tools used by the abortion practitioner to end the life of an individual prior to his birth, or as the Gosnell case illustrates, at times just after the baby’s birth. This act is clearly the employment of force designed to render the victim dead. FULL POST

Planned Parenthood, the sex-industry chain that commits more abortions (over 330,000 baby deaths last year alone) than any other legalized murder-store in America, has defrauded the government, protected child rapists, coached pimps and sex traffickers how to get around the law, and continues to be one of the largest purveyors of pornographic sex ed in the world. Its Pennsylvania affiliate even knew of, but did not report, the Gosnell abortion horrors, which included severed baby feet, infant beheadings, and drains clogged with fetal remains.
So, if you are the first sitting president in history to address Planned Parenthood at its national conference—an organization founded by Margaret Sanger, a racist and eugenics promoter of The Negro Project meant to eliminate “human weeds” like the poor, minorities, and undesirables in general—what do you say? If you are Barack Obama, you say, “Thank you, Planned Parenthood. God bless you.” FULL POST
