Maine-based Rockers Set to Release New CD in 2010

Chosen Records' recording artist The Wrecking admits it will be hard to top the whirlwind year they have had in 2009. But as the band readies itself to release its second nationally-distributed CD in the coming months, the Portland Maine-based rockers hope to build on the momentum.

"We're hungry and we aren't satisfied with the way things are in ourselves, in our music or in the world." says lead singer Doug Elder. "We feel like we have a burden to get these songs, sounds and stories off our chests, and nothing but aggressive forward motion will suffice."

While their debut cd, A New Abolition, and their new EP, The Catalyst have both received rave reviews, the band has also been recognized for several successful music videos. They received a recent nomination for Best Pop Video by the Gospel Music Channel, and their cover version of U2's "Get On Your Boots" was named as one of the Top 50 Music Videos on YouTube.

The Wrecking's "One Shot" multi-media events featuring live music interspersed with film clips has been an enormously successful outreach to youth. Additionally, The Wrecking has shared the stage with Sanctus Real, The Afters, Skillet, Jeremy Camp, Ten Shekel Shirt and EleventySeven, among others. The band has recently been chosen for the iTunes Essential Rising Stars-Christian collection along with artists such as Mandisa, Brandon Heath, DecembeRadio, and FM Static, among others. The band's radio single and music video, "You Remain," became a top 5 hit on the Air 1 Radio network.

While the band is serious about music, they are equally serious about making an impact on worldwide atrocities such as child sex slavery and children of war. The Wrecking has been heavily involved with Love 146, International Justice Mission, ChildVoice and other organizations dedicated to helping improve the lives of children across the globe. Plans are in the works for the band to partner with Habitat for Humanity and Invisible Children for projects in 2010.

The Wrecking's "road-warrior" status continues in earnest in 2010. They will tour on both the East and West Coasts beginning in January, including a stop at The Rock in San Diego (12,000 members). The Wrecking's new CD, tentatively titled So Much For Love, will be marketed to both mainstream and Christian radio audiences in the coming year. The song "Fire" will kick off a nationwide college radio campaign while "About To Fall" will be promoted to Christian AC and CHR.

"We are very thankful for the great things that have debuted and emerged this year," says drummer Darren Elder, "but I must say, we are stoked about everything that is on the horizon and in development. We have been writing and recording the new record and can't wait to share it."
