Biblical counselor and host of radio program "Hope for the Heart" June Hunt has a message for you: it is possible to stop the pain of abuse. In this interview with CP Insider, the Verbal and Emotional Abuse: Victory Over Verbal and Emotional Abuse author defines emotional abuse and explains what it does to the soul.

CP: What is the difference between verbal and emotional abuse?

Hunt: Well we pretty much think we know what it means when there’s emotional abuse going on. That’s the systematic, ongoing cutting or sharp tone that’s meant to dominate or control another person. It’s not just a one-time event where you say something wrong and you go oh I’m so sorry, please forgive me. It’s mistreatment of another person intentional.
