Each year the Guttmacher Institute releases statistics on birth control and abortion. These findings show that abortion is a popular means of birth control: 1.4 million are performed in the United States annually and 42 million abortions are performed annually worldwide.

The Live Citizen infographic also shows that 38% of abortions in the United States are performed on Protestant women.
