Adoption in America (INFOGRAPHIC)
November is Adoption Awareness Month and November 17th is National Adoption Day.
The following infographic by the University of Southern California Social Work Department provides a list of interesting statistics regarding adoption in America:
- There are 145 million orphans worldwide of which 130 million of them live in Asia and Africa.
- Married couples are responsible for 69% of adoptions in America and 26% of adoptions are by single female.
- In 15% of adoptions the child is related to the adopter.
