Poverty in the United States by the Numbers (INFOGRAPHICS)
The Bible has plenty to say about poverty and the treament of the poor. For exampl, in one Bible story Jesus told Simon, "The poor you will always have with you ..." - Matthew 26:11 NIV
The statistics in America show that poverty is widespread. According to this NPR infographic, by 2010 "1.5 out of 10 people in the U.S. were in poverty."
