Obama, Muslim rights and Carnal Weapons

It seems America is waking to the reality of some peculiar battles and tests ... with hidden opportunities as well as greater snares if it responds in emotional outbreak. The creation of a Christian “heaven on earth” by the founding fathers - even if not debatable in historicity is at least now colliding with the fundamental human rights of Muslims. I cannot fathom how freedom-loving American Christians are now fighting rights of Moslems to build their mosque wherever they wish in accordance to the law - though I recognise the sensitivities. I do pray that families still hurting from the 911 unfortunate incident will find the grace to forgive and release all bitterness and pain. God will convert painful tests to testimonies that will lead even more to come to Him.

2 Corinthians 10 [4] (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;)

Obama recently announced "Let me be clear. As a citizen, and as President, I believe that Muslims have the same right to practice their religion as everyone else in this country," he said to applause at the White House. "And that includes the right to build a place of worship and a community center on private property in Lower Manhattan, in accordance with local laws and ordinances."

The Bible says we should obey the laws of the land. However, the laws and ordinances of America for which Obama was voted in to uphold are not the laws of God nor did Obama, in his electoral campaign, conceal his “humanist liberal” approach and derision for “the only way is Christ” fundamentalist faith. Still he was voted in by Christians and non-Christians to The White House – as the most powerful political leader in the world today. The laws of God emphasise the consecration and separation of God’s people for His pleasure... while the best laws of men aim to guarantee freedoms and enjoyment of peacable living for the pleasure of mankind. All Muslims also believe the Sharia Law ("way" or "path") is the sacred law of Islam i.e. their own god’s law (there is no other law). Muslims believe all Sharia is derived from the divine revelations set forth in the Qu’ran and the sayings and example set by the Islamic Prophet Muhammed. You can be certain there will be no debate on gay clerics in Islam. While Islamic strongholds frown strongly at casual penetration to evangelise and convert their citizens, American laws are indifferent. Indeed the laws of the West are not there to protect Christianity...as Sharia primarily exists to defend Islam.

Proverbs 16:17 teaches that when you are troubled by your enemies then it may be a good season to reconsider your ways. It also makes it clear that the hearts, intentions and actions of all men – friend and foe are easily controlled by God.

The Bible also concludes that the laws and traditions of men, false religion, humanism and satanic doctrines are united in a strong alliance to oppose Christ.

Samuel was miserable that the children of Israel rejected the rule of God and preferred to have their own king and fight their own battles...in spite of all the warnings of God.

I Samuel 8[ 8] According to all the works which they have done since the day that I brought them up out of Egypt even unto this day, wherewith they have forsaken me, and served other gods, so do they also unto thee. [9] Now therefore hearken unto their voice: howbeit yet protest solemnly unto them, and show them the manner of the king that shall reign over them. [10] And Samuel told all the words of the LORD unto the people that asked of him a king. [11] And he said, This will be the manner of the king that shall reign over you: He will take your sons, and appoint them for himself, for his chariots, and to be his horsemen; and some shall run before his chariots. [12] And he will appoint him captains over thousands, and captains over fifties; and will set them to ear his ground, and to reap his harvest, and to make his instruments of war, and instruments of his chariots. [13] And he will take your daughters to be confectionaries, and to be cooks, and to be bakers. [14] And he will take your fields, and your vineyards, and your oliveyards, even the best of them , and give them to his servants. [15] And he will take the tenth of your seed, and of your vineyards, and give to his officers, and to his servants. [16] And he will take your menservants, and your maidservants, and your goodliest young men, and your asses, and put them to his work. [17] He will take the tenth of your sheep: and ye shall be his servants. [18] And ye shall cry out in that day because of your king which ye shall have chosen you; and the LORD will not hear you in that day. [19] Nevertheless the people refused to obey the voice of Samuel; and they said, Nay; but we will have a king over us; [20] That we also may be like all the nations; and that our king may judge us, and go out before us, and fight our battles.

Barack Obama was the choice God permitted. Americans would do well to pray for him as God has directed and live through their choice and not incur more displeasure from God. God give us grace to be the light and salt we are to be and begin to please God by returning to consecration, believing God and seeking to live in the Spirit. May we rediscover God’s law and love and have them written in our hearts, living always by them. As we repent and return to God, He intervenes to win our battles for us.

Hebrews 11 [6] But without faith it is impossible to please him : for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

2Timothy 2 [4] No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier.

Romans 8 [7] Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. [8] So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.

I already wrote in an earlier blog post that Islam is not the problem. Our continued disobedience to God's law, carnal thinking and worldliness are indeed bringing to God far more dishonour. Lord, teach me to please you.
