Elton Milstead talks to Newt Gingrich at the Republican National Convention in Tampa, Florida.

Elton Milstead, a delegate from Texas, had an opportunity to meet Newt Gingrich during the Republican National Convention. Milstead supported the former speaker of the House during his run for the presidency this year.

"He's kind of a hero of mine," Milstead told The Christian Post.

Milstead is a county commissioner. Gingrich asked him some questions about his positions as they spoke.

"He was really interested in local government," Milstead said.
