Heifer International - "Ending Hunger; Caring for the Earth"
Heifer International is busy doing great things around the globe. Taking the idea of passing a gift along to a new level. Heifer is busy changing the world. Working with community leaders and families in over fifty countries and over 180 on-going projects Heifer continues to give a hand up and not a hand out. Though many believe the saying "Give a man a fish, feed him for a day; Teach a man to fish, feed him for a lifetime," is in the Bible, it is actually a old Chinese proverb. Heifer is making that dream come true by helping millions of improvised families being their own agricultural farm or the raising of livestock to help those who otherwise could not help themselves.
Heifer takes an unique approach and looks first to educate and ready those for the gift and then requests all that receive the gift to pass it along to others. By partnering with companies such as Heifer, churches and parishioners alike are able to greatly multiply their efforts by working a strong organization with time tested techniques.
Heifer was originally began in 1944 and looks to help those in need and is set up as a charitable organization or a 501(c) and you can partner with Heifer either by helping sponsor a group through charitable giving. To review the full breadth and services that Heifer offers visit their web site at www.Heifer.org
In fact, we have been doing mission trips to the Navajo people in Pueblo Pintado and we are looking to partner with Heifer there.
Partnering with a well-organized group such as Heifer puts you light years ahead of where you would be otherwise as you seek to be the hands and feet of Jesus.
