Atlanta CPA Challenges Your Church Group to Join us on Navajo Family Missions
Taking Christianity Into the World
If you believe a picture is worth a thousand words then perhaps this is a Million Dollar Video. I invite you to see what God is doing with Navajo Family Missions as we Take Christianity Into the World.
I entreat you to pray before you watch, that you watch with a open heart, and then that you listen to the Lion of Judah, Our God, speaking to your heart. Perhaps your family, your church, your Bible study group might join our Family Missions Work to the Navajo as we call down the power of Almighty God as we Worship, Grow and Serve Jesus Christ. See God at work at http://bit.ly/QS0V9 If you listen and watch with an open heart, it will change your world.
Below is a narrative of a bit about what we do and how we serve as we seek to be the Hands and Feet of Jesus Christ:
For the past two years I have had the honor of leading the Pueblo Pintado Mission trip along with my husband, John who has been our spiritual leader. When we made that commitment two years ago, we had no idea the impact it would have on our daily lives. Pueblo Pintado is a part of us, a part of our family, a part of our friends, a part of our soul.
We have a busy schedule but there is lots of time for fun and one on one with the Navajo people. While there, we host a vacation bible school, community/carnival nights, bingo games, women's bible study and sports camp. We also have a daily program at the senior center while a crew is out working construction and service projects.
This past year, we were amazed as child after child rushed in on our first day of vacation bible school and we realized that we had double the number that we had had in the past. As amazing, is the fact that the wonderful elders are sitting anxiously at the senior center waiting for the arrival of our 2 activity leaders because they have been checking off days on their calendar until we arrive. They put their sheep herding, their weaving, their work aside for one week and allow us to serve them, share with them, laugh with them and love on them.
We have been able to establish relationships with so many on the reservation and that has opened doors to them and to us and allowed us to continue to bring God's word to them not just 7 days out of the year, but 365. This past year, we were able to get over 100 bibles printed in Navajo donated to the elders in the community. As I was handing out the bibles and going through some of the scriptures with them (through a translator), one of the ladies grabbed the bible, clutched it to her chest and said that she was taking this bible to heaven with her. Those words seemed to have been spoken by a lot of the Navajo when they received their Bible.
Most everyone on the trip makes a connection with someone and just in our family, I have a wonderful young woman who I either talk to or text at least once a day and who was able to come here for a visit in September and is anxiously awaiting her next visit.
I have made a lifelong friend with whom I enjoy long phone conversations and many laughs. But these are just two of the many relationships that have been formed and bonded over the years. I encourage you to attend the meeting after the second service to hear more.
We can't promise that it is an easy trip but we can assure you that the hardest part of the trip, is having to say goodbye to the Navajo people.
