Atlanta CPA Presents Redeeming Grace...Getting Real With Our Faith...Taking Christianity Into the World
"How telling is the mirror? How often do we look and see what God would have us see? Although the mirror reflects our true physical self, it does not reveal the person behind the mirror and try though we might, we are often confused as to who we really are. In our own efforts to believe the best about ourselves we often fail to see the little spots and blemishes which stand in the way of our image being like that of Christ. Though we live in our fallen earthly bodies we are to model and strive for a life that resembles who He would have us be and not what society would tell us.
Almost always when we look into the mirrors of our own souls we fail to see the whole truth; a truth that we do not live our lives with the love and joy God gives us. We often fail to see our failings that can only be filled by the blood of Calvary. By going to the cross daily in prayer we find our God, our Abba Father; a God to whom we can crawl up on his lap and be filled with his peace and his love. God did allow man to choose and unfortunately we do not use wisdom making life choices. I wish Adam had chosen a different course and obeyed but in his pride Adam failed and made a most unwise choice for us all. Adam's choice still haunts all of us today but yet it is a choice we are nonetheless born into his original sin. Although we are often dismayed by the legacy Adam left us, we are destined to share in it nevertheless.
Being born into this original sin, not of our making, also allows us to share in God's grace which has a perfect promise at its end. This allows us the joy of the inheritance of Christ, to share in his resurrection. In his perfect sacrifice we are justified and made holy. There are no acts we can perform to gain acceptance into the kingdom of God but we do have the responsibility to live our lives in a way that will honor him. We are saved only by grace and by faith in Jesus Christ who was God incarnate. Choosing to take the form of a man, he opted to walk amongst us and to share first hand our trials and tribulations. Though he was without sin, he became sin so that we might live with him eternally in the heavens. I can only imagine a love so complete so incredible that its supply is endless and its affects indescribable.
I am amazed that a perfect God would choose to step down from heaven to live in a fallen world all the while knowing he would suffer death on a cross for a crime that he did not commit. He could have walked away at any time. He could have summoned a legion of angels to destroy those who would persecute him but he took hold of the cup that his Abba Father, God in Heaven, gave to him. During his trial and his suffering he continued to pray for those that persecuted him and for their salvation. Facing his own immediate death, he still prayed for forgiveness for them, as they were not aware of what they were doing.
Come alongside the power of Redeeming Grace as only our Father in Heaven can tell as modeled by our Biblical ancestors. Along the way we will discover who we are and who we are yet to be in Him. Praise God. He is truly a God of second chances who constantly meets us at our point of deepest need. Call out to him. Listen to that small still voice, the Lion of Judah, calling out to you to fill you with love and take away your deepest fears, hurts, and challenges. There is a Lord of Heaven and Earth and he is Christ Jesus and he is reaching out to you now."
Redeeming Grace
Redeeming love, redeeming grace
I see your love about this place
No longer bound, in you set free
You have bidst me come to thee
And to your arms my heart does flee
How I want to honor thee
As time goes on and on I find
You're always waiting here for me
Seeking me as I do you
Abounding in your endless grace
Forever peaceful by my faith
In you I know that I am found
In you I know I'm free
I sing this song to honor thee
My arms reach up towards the sky
They reach to you my Lord most high
They reach to you my Lord most high
Creating me to worship you
Your love formed me out of dust
In all I see, say and do
I want to honor you
Saved by grace you gave your all
For me you took the fall
Though blameless you took the cross
With your last breath you paid the cost
You gave it all for man to see
Your love formed me
Your love formed me
Redeeming love, redeeming grace
I see your love about this place
No longer bound, in you set free
You have bidst me come to thee
And to your arms do I flee
How I want to honor thee
How I want to honor thee
