Be Sure to Work with a Tax Professional Who is a Good Communicator

Want more than just a bill from your professionals. For twenty plus years I believe our clients deserve more than just an invoice. The below is a sample of what we might send along with any billings or word completed to a client as a regular and ongoing commitment to straightforward, insightful advice. Be sure you work with a CPA who is conducive to your communication style, is technically competent and is communicated to giving well directed and poignant advice.

This is to confirm that I suggest you have me today/ASAP apply for a S Corporation for your LLC and that if your wife is to remain an Independent Sales Agent that she set up her own S Corporation for both liability limitation and potential tax savings.

This is to confirm that you are aware of the rules and guidelines of submitting an Offer in Compromise and that I suggest that you ASAP file all of your unfiled returns so we might address and decide the best course of action. And that to submit an Offer in Compromise you have to:

-Owe more than a combination of your net worth and your excess cash flows over the next five years.

-That you have to be current on all of your tax filings and payments.

This will confirm that you are aware that both the IRS & GA are a pay as you so system and that they will both add penalties and interest for late payments and that tax monies are due and payable as the monies/profits are earned.

This is to confirm that you are handling all payroll and 1099 issues, your county property tax report, and your business license.

This is to confirm that you are aware of the need to pay the annual fee with the Secretary of State's Office to renew your LLC's annual registration.

Please be reminded that as an S Corporation, tax law requires you to take a reasonable salary given position and profit that you may also take shareholder distributions that are legally devoid of FICA and Medicare taxes.

Please be reminded that you are required to keep a by day log to support business miles.

It is an honor to serve you. If you know anyone looking for a Good CPA, please let me know and feel free to refer him or her to my web site at www.hiscpa.com

Very Sincerely Yours, John C. Dillard, CPA, President
