My Prayer....

Standing by my wife's bedside I hardly recognized her. Swollen from all of the IV fluids, fever blisters from the raging fever, pneumonia, infection in her blood, spinal fluids and brain, while hooked to a machine to keep her alive. Even though the numbers were improving slowly, I am sorry to say that my faith wasn't. With hundreds of people praying for my wife and my family, for me, I was at my darkest hour.

National Day of Fasting

This morning several attended Free Chapel and heard Jentezen Franklin speak about fasting, it was an amazing morning and I feel we have a better understanding of fasting. One thing he mentioned after asking all to pray for our country that Abraham Lincoln issued a proclamation appointing a National day of Fast. Some of you who are history buffs may have heard about this but the three of us were really surprised when he spoke of this. I found this article on the web and thought I would share with all in case you too did not know.

After reading this I can only say why is not still being followed, why have we eliminated prayer and God from our schools and government buildings? Have any of our recent elected officials ever read this proclamation? Paragraph 3 pretty well explains why we are currently experiencing tough economic times, lack of peace and prosperity and family values. You would think if it was a problem then that lead a President to issue a proclamation we as a Nation would have learned??

Atlanta CPA Asks: Are Taxpayers Required to Pay Estimated Taxes?

The IRS and the state of Georgia can require certain people and entities to pay these estimated taxes. Those include:

• If you claim to be a sole proprietor, partner, LLC or LLP member or partner, S corporation shareholder, or a self employed individual you are required to pay the tax if you are expecting to be taxed over $1,000 in the year.
• If you are an S-Corporation and are expecting to be taxed more than $500 in the upcoming year you must complete these as well.
• If you as the taxpayer retained a tax liability from the year before then you will most likely have to pay an estimated tax in the current year. However you might be able to avoid this by working closely with your CPA during tax planning. As an Atlanta CPA for decades, we seek that many clients fail in this as perhaps one of the largest areas where clients fail to properly financially plan. You can check on these rules in IRS Form 1040-ES and Georgia Form 600-ES.
