Watchmen: Not One Day but 365!

The Day the Nations Prayed for Jerusalem

On Sunday October 6th, Christians in over 175 nations, including those in the "underground churches" of China and seven Muslim countries, prayed for God's peace and blessings upon Jerusalem and all of her people as part of the Day of Prayer for the Peace of Jerusalem (DPPJ). It is truly difficult to grasp the width and the breadth of this global, grassroots prayer movement until you begin to read the multitude of reports that have come in from churches - both large and small - from all corners of the earth.

Here are just a few of them..

Yoido Full Gospel's DPPJ Ad in South Korea's largest newspaper.

Yoido Full Gospel Church in Seoul, South Korea is one of the largest churches in the world. On a typical Sunday, 200,000 believers will attend one of seven services, while another two or three hundred thousand will watch the service on TV in adjoining buildings or satellite branches. On October 6th, 500,000 attended the DPPJ service led by Dr. Young Hoon Lee, the senior pastor who succeeded Dr. Yonggi Cho. They felt especially honored that the Israeli Ambassador to South Korea, Uri Gutman, attended the service and afterwards met personally with Dr. Lee and church leaders which included the DPPJ Coordinator for South Korea, Elder Lee. 175 Nations, One City, One Voice

God’s Prayer Army is made up of all denominations, all cultures, and all ages. United in prayer, this army overcomes natural borders, divisions, and challenges, to supernaturally bring forth God’s Kingdom here on earth. In addition, what is impossible for man IS possible with God and He uses the “weak” and the “foolish” to do it! (1 Corinthians 1:27)

As a result, each and every person in The Body of Christ can now be part of this strategic and historic Day of Prayer for the Peace of Jerusalem on October 6th. Together, we will pray for His Holy City Jerusalem, for His Land Israel, and for ALL who live there – Jewish, Christian and Arab. Last year, churches in over 175 nations participated in this global prayer movement, including the “underground” churches in China and seven Muslim nations! FULL POST

Connected Then – Connected Now: We’re Both Under Attack!

In a world that is increasingly tolerant of all kinds or moral lifestyles and all kinds of spirituality, it is also becoming increasingly INTOLERANT of both Christianity and Judaism.

Facts:

www.persecution.in
  • The 2012 Report by Pew Forum and other agencies (worldwatchlist.us) (opendoorsusa.org) estimated that at least 200 million innocent Christians are brutally murdered each year, while in TOTAL, over 100 MILLION innocent Christians are being persecuted, oppressed, raped and beaten in 133 countries, representing two-thirds of all the nations on earth. (1)
  • The FBI Hate Crimes Statistics for 2010 reported that more than 65.4 % of religious based hate crimes were done against Jews because of their religion. (2)

  • Attitudes Towards Jews in Ten European Countries: The January 2012 ADL opinion survey of 5,000 adults – 500 in each of ten European countries (Austria, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Spain, and the United Kingdom) revealed that pernicious anti-Semitic beliefs continue to be held. (3)
  • June 30, 2013 - Israel Today: One-in-four European Jews experienced anti-Semitic harassment at least once over the past 12 months, and one-in-three were targeted in the last five years. Forty to fifty percent of the Jews living in France, Belgium, and Hungary, said they are considering emigration because they now feel unsafe. Connected Then - Connected Now: Both are Children of the Covenant

Eagles' Wings - DPPJ Jerusalem

Internationally renowned educator, speaker, author, and Modern Orthodox Jewish Leader - Rabbi Dr. Shlomo Riskin - looked out over a primarily Christian audience, both in Jerusalem and the nations via the Day of Prayer for the Peace of Jerusalem broadcast, and said: “There is more that unites us as Jews and Christians, than separates us.”  Surprising? As we review The Bible, we see that this is indeed true.

Now we do not want to minimize the importance of the key issue that separates our beliefs - The Messiah –but we also dare not lose sight of the multitude of facts that deeply connect our two faith communities …important bonds that do not exist with any other world religion. FULL POST

The World at Our Finger Tips

How many times have we wished we could do more or give more as we sat in church or in a Missions Conference?

How often have we lamented that we could not go to other countries with God’s Word?

Eagles' Wings - DPPJ Kikwit -Bandundu - R.D. Congo

Jesus did tell His disciples to “… go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.” (Matthew 28: 19 & 20)

The good news is that the world has come to us!  The nations now live next door, or in town, or in the next town. Many of them are already Christians and attend a church nearby where English is NOT the first language. You can share God’s heart about prayer for Jerusalem right where you are. No Visa, no luggage, and no immunizations because The Day of Prayer for the Peace of Jerusalem has educational resources translated in over 25 languages!  FULL POST

The Hour in Which We Live

beatsbyoctavia.com

There are certain times in God’s Eternal Timeline where He will use a particular person, or a particular generation, to bring about His unique and strategic purposes to actually change the course of history. Usually He uses just ordinary people… like Noah, Gideon, Mary, Luther, and The Moravians to name a few. The important qualification common to all of these people was not their titles, their awards, their background, or their talents, but rather, their ability to hear “His small quiet voice” and their courage to obey. He looks for those who are like the sons of Issachar - those who “understand the signs of the times” and know what to do.

Do You Know What Time It Is?

We are living in the midst of incredible, prophetic days when the very words of the prophets Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel, and others, are literally being fulfilled before our very eyes. God’s promises to His Holy City – Jerusalem (Zech. 2:12; 8:7 & 8; 12:6) and to Israel, have been unfolding since His miraculous fulfillment of His Word in 1948 to re-gather His people in their ancestral homeland. (See Deut. 30: 3-5 &Lev. 26: 42-45 to name a few.) FULL POST

Train up a Child

While you and I can often become distracted with the “important” and the “urgent” of the present, we serve a God Who sees “the end from the beginning.” While you and I worship Him as “Father,” The Lord calls Himself “the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.” When He blesses us, He also brings an inheritance of blessings to our children and grandchildren, “to a thousand generations”. (Deuteronomy 7:9) In fact, God cares so much about the generations, that He has filled Scripture with repeated instructions about the importance of teaching our children His heart, His wisdom, and His Ways. Scripture is also filled with many admonitions and consequences if we don’t.

The Day of Prayer for the Peace of Jerusalem in Africa

Knowing God’s heart for the generations and for Jerusalem, The Day of Prayer for the Peace of Jerusalem team has developed wonderful resources to teach young people of every age why and how to pray for God’s Beloved City. What’s even more exciting is that all of these educational resources – which include lesson plans, songs, crafts, and even a video for teens – are absolutely FREE as downloads from our Day of Prayer for the Peace of Jerusalem webpage: DPPJ for Kids.  FULL POST
