The Demagogue Cult

text size A A A

While many Christians are concerned or loathe about voting for a Mormon, the only other option besides Mitt Romney is Barack Obama. Obama has trampled over religious freedom by mandating that Catholic institutions provide free birth control for their employees. Under the Obama regime, the Democrat party denied God in their platform three times and likewise refused to recognize Jerusalem as Israel's capital. Immediately upon entering office, Obama passed the stimulus which failed to stimulate anything except his ego because our country continues to have high unemployment, high gas prices, and high costs on everything. The Obamacare package discriminates against the poor because if people do not buy health insurance - some cannot afford it - then they suffer a high penalty. All of this, conservatives reading this article already know.

Then, there is the debate about whether the Mormon belief is a cult, religion, or Christian denomination, which I think can result in some nitpicky terminology. Christianity and our American way of life are being threatened by Obama and his regime, not by Mormons. Obama has cut federal funding for our military while borrowing billions from China. Obama has soared our debt to $16 trillion. Obama has snubbed Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for a guest appearance on Letterman. Obama sat and fiddled on information in the Middle East. Obama ignored information that could have saved the life of Chris Stevens and three other Americans.

God can and does use non-Christians to fulfill His purposes. King Cyrus of Persia remains the most prominent example. Therefore, because God uses non-Christians, we need to set aside this controversy about Mormonism and look at who the two candidates actually are. Can you imagine all the Hebrews protesting against Cyrus who freed them from Babylonian captivity because Cyrus never worshipped the same God?

A group of Christians protest against Mitt Romney as president due to his Mormon beliefs. However, this protest and this refusal to vote for Mitt Romney will help another Obama election and will further threaten our religious liberties and our American way of life. Voting against Mitt Romney or not voting at all is dangerous to Christianity and all other freedoms because Obama has consistently opposed our religion, our values, and our way of life. The Christian protest is most analogous to the Hebrews choosing to remain in Babylonian captivity simply because Cyrus worshipped Zoroastrianism.

With all these complaints about how Mitt Romney as President will allow a cult into power... Mitt Romney believes in liberty and freedom. This belief means that American People have the power. Because Mitt Romney believes in freedom, this belief automatically denies any theocratic power in the government.

Obama on the other hand... Obama believes in himself, and he believes in the government with himself as the head of the government. Let us take a look at all the reverence toward Obama...

It started in 2008 with the presidential campaign. Posters featured Obama with his head surrounded with halos, a typical imagery for Jesus and His Apostles during the past two millennia. Even the Rolling Stone magazine featured Obama glowing with light behind him. Yes, Obama promised everyone hope and change.

Another poster featured a young Obama with the caption "Son of Promise, Child of Hope." This is biblical terminology. Read Galatians 4:22-29 and Romans 9:6-9. In those passages, people who become followers of the Messiah become children of promise, just as Isaac was the promised child. Jesus is also a child of promise, born of a virgin to become Savior of the World.

So, you have Obama and his followers approbriating Christian symbolism and terminology for their own campaign. Of course, not everyone liked the Christian stuff. Some posters are more esoteric while others are for kids to enjoy. Kids can finally have fun with their own action-adventure president. Only this president backtracked from stating the attack in Libya was random, to apologizing for the YouTube video, and then flipping around to insist that it was a planned attack.

Even adults can enjoy Super Obama!

But the Christian Obama Merchandise remains popular with Obama Bible Covers. Yes, you can place Obama atop your bible to cover up the word of God. And fans can adore their bedrooms with posters of Obama in front of a Cross that shines light upon him.

.But we all know how Obama views himself from his own campaign store - as leader of a nation emptied of its fifty individual states; a nation devoid of its individual states who united together for a common goal; one nation under Obama. This does not surprise me when I consider his overflowing hubris.

Now, we have the power of the vote, and we can choose whether or not to follow and to obey God. God wants great things for us, yet He allows us to choose against. Will you vote for someone who believes in religious freedom and civil liberties, or will you vote for someone whose image is a direct effort to replace God? Will you vote for someone who considers himself a humble human, a servant of the people, or will you vote for somone whose followers regard as a god with religious symbolism that they stole from Christianity?

And let's face it. With all the halos and merchandise and bible covers and Obama with glowing crosses, I believe that people do worship him as something close to a god if not as a god. And a president with this level of religious idolization and this level of hubris to replace the fifty stars for the fifty individual states with his own logo is very frightening.
