The Pastor of Passion City Church in Atlanta, Louie Giglio was originally scheduled to deliver the benediction at Obama's inauguration. For the past ten or fifteen years, Giglio has dedicated his life's work to end human trafficking and to liberate women from sex slavery. The Passion church houses annual fundraisers and awareness programs to educate college students about the dangers and the reality of sexual enslavement. Gay liberals dug through his past and pulled out a sermon from the 1990s in which Giglio condemned the sin of gay sex.
All those gay liberals protested against him. Amid the outcry, Giglio withdrew from the inauguration. Giglio wrote:
Due to a message of mine that has surfaced from 15-20 years ago, it is likely that my participation, and the prayer I would offer, will be dwarfed by those seeking to make their agenda the focal point of the inauguration.
Through a spokesperson, Obama stated that he and his campaign "were not aware of Pastor Giglio’s past comments at the time of his selection and they don’t reflect our desire to celebrate the strength and diversity of our country at this Inaugural,"
This is clear and obvious evidence of where the liberals place their priorities - gay sex and gay marriage far above the liberation of women and children from sexual enslavement. Louie Giglio considers the liberation of women and children his top priority, which is why he has not preached against gay sex in fifteen or twenty years. Giglio wrote:
Clearly, speaking on this issue has not been in the range of my priorities in the past fifteen years. Instead, my aim has been to call people to ultimate significance as we make much of Jesus Christ.
Neither I, nor our team, feel it best serves the core message and goals we are seeking to accomplish to be in a fight on an issue not of our choosing
For a man who has dedicated his life to ending sexual enslavement, condemning the sin of gay sex really is a second priority if a priority at all. The enslaved women and children are forced into sin, so they sin against their will and have their bodies repeatedly violated. That the liberals and the secularists would eagerly ignore and cast aside more than a decade of dedication to ending slavery - cast aside liberation because of a sermon twenty years ago - disregard efforts to liberate slaves from bondage in favor of gay sex and gay marriage...
This disregard reveals without a doubt where the secular priorities are.
Which do the seculars consider more important? Gay sex or freedom from sexual bondage? That women get free abortions, or that women are liberated from being sex slaves?
The gay liberals vilified Louie Giglio as a horrible bigot despite his efforts to liberate women and children from bondage. The secularists value sex above all else regardless of consent or lack of consent. If secularists were to acknowledge that sex can be wrong and immoral, then it would severely challenge their beliefs that sex for the sake of sex as empowerment or personal fulfillment. the debacle surrounding this inauguration issue reminds me of what I said a while back. Sex for the sake of sex, which is sex removed from a responsible social context, leads to objectification and dehumanization. When sex is for the sake of sex, the focus becomes centered on one's own physical cravings - what one can get out of the encounter. The other person exists in the relationship simply to provide sexual pleasure.
The plight and perils of sex slavery does not even appear to be within the secular awareness. And remember that the liberals championed employer-provided birth control and abortions, considering the refusal of such the "War on Women" all the while forgetting that the real war on women is in sex trafficking. The secularists vilified Christians as anti-women for opposing abortion and birth control when in reality, the Christian organizations such as A21 Campaign, Abolition International, and yes, the Passion City church have made the liberation of women from sex slavery into their central focus.
Which is more important? That women get free abortions, or that women are liberated from being sex slaves?
Also, remember that the main organizations that combat sex slavery are Christian organizations. And yet, Christians are often accused by secularists of being sexually repressive and anti-sex prudes. It seems to me that the secularists are so obsessed with sex that they refuse to acknowledge the concept of sexual sin and sexual morality.
This really makes a person wonder where their priorities are.
- Giglio scheduled to give benediction speech due to his efforts to end sex trafficking.
- Gay liberals find a 20-year-old sermon Giglio made in which he called gay sex a sin.
- Giglio withdraws due to protests and outcries.
- The plight of women and children enslaved in the sex trade has no part in this "controversy."
- Lady Gaga sings at Obama's inauguration.
Lady Gaga is known for her song "Government Hooker" and her music videos feature male rape against women as well as lesbian rape. Lady Gaga glorifies and idealizes sexual enslavement. So, the Obama inauguration exchanged someone who liberates women from slavery for someone who glamorizes women as sex slaves and rape victims.
The secular obsession with sex consumes them entirely. Liberating women from enslavement interferes with a sex activity. Convincing people that gay sex is a sin also interferes with a sex activity. Those two have some very big differences in the beliefs and attitudes of the people who act these out. Slaves have no freedom to consent. Gay sex is consensual.
Nonetheless, because the secularists refuse to acknowledge sexual sin and refuse to acknowledge that any type of sex can be wrong or immoral, these two can be grouped together to explain why secularists protested against a pastor who has dedicated fifteen or so years of his life to the abolishment of sex slavery on account of a 20-year-old sermon he made calling gay sex a sin. This explains why the secularists protested Giglio's sermon against gay sex and invited Gaga who glamorizes and idealizes women as sex slaves and rape victims. The secularists simply do not see the difference between gay sex and female bondage. Secularists cannot recognize the difference between gay sex and sex trafficking because they believe all sex must be fulfillment, consent irrelevant. This explains why they protested Giglio due to a 20-year-old sermon and invited Gaga who idealizes rape and bondage. This country's secular culture is devoid of moral priorities. If our country refuses to get some moral bearing, society will be on a collision course to destruction.
