Surely, there is nothing more painful than the loss of a pregnancy or the death of an infant. It’s hard to imagine the pain and suffering couples feel after experiencing such tragedy. During such times, it is crucial that couples have a strong support network to help during the grieving and recovery process. Years ago, the month of October was designated as National Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month to support those couples who have faced such pain and suffering.
To serve as a resource to couples struggling with infertility and pregnancy loss, three women who had faced this situation themselves founded the Stepping Stones ministry. Their goal was to build a bridge “across the waters of discouragement, loneliness, and loss that are often a part of the infertility experience.”
One of the ministry’s most valuable tools is its newsletter, a Christian publication offering insightful firsthand accounts from couples who have experienced infertility, and articles from experts in the field of impaired fertility. Covering areas ranging from grief and loss to life without children, the Stepping Stones newsletter offers critical information, encouragement, and support to couples battling through difficult times.
“While the path I am walking is certainly not one I would choose—maybe one I will never understand, already filled with heartaches and disappointments—I know that I will ultimately not be disappointed. This is not because God answered every prayer according to my wishes, but because He drew near to me in my time of deepest need and loves me with an unfailing and sufficient love.”
Please remember that you are not alone and that resources are available through Stepping Stones.
