America has been waging a war on drugs for decades. Drug addiction is an issue that has touched the lives of people from coast to coast, and the Christian community has been no exception. We all know the comfort that comes from our faith when we or our families face a crisis. Unfortunately, faith alone won't always shield us from temptation. As we are taught by 1 Corinthians 10:13 (NIV):
No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.
Becoming addicted is not indicative of some character flaw or a lack of morality, it is simply a part of the human condition. It can happen to anyone, no matter how faithful or virtuous they may be. It's the second part of the verse that offers hope to the addicted. God knows that all of his children will face temptation, and his love is the means for us to overcome it. To be able to recover, an addict must heal spiritually as well as physically. FULL POST

Whether you're buying or selling a home, one of the most important parts of the process is finding the right real estate agent to help with each step. A real estate agent can make the transaction smoother and avoid complications that can occur if you have a lack of experience. If you're interviewing the professional, there are a few essential questions to ask before requesting their services.
How Much Experience Do You Have in Real Estate?
The number of years that an agent has worked in the industry will determine how quickly your house sells or the number of properties that you're exposed to when shopping for a new home. They'll also have more connections if they've worked in the industry for several years, which can allow you to easily be connected to a home inspector or an electrician.
Do You Have References?
The real estate agent that you're considering may have a good reputation, but it's important that you do your homework to ensure that you have a pleasant experience. Request references to get in contact with former clients and ask about their experience, according to home.howstuffworks.com. If you're selling a home, you can ask how long their home took to sell. If you're looking to buy a property, ask the client how well the agent negotiated a lower rate after you made an offer. Request up to three references to ensure that you get an understanding of other individuals' past experiences. FULL POST

The question of whether you should get health insurance or not beggars no answer because buying health insurance cover is a must. Health cover ensures that you can financially be taken care of when you fall sick as well as get some tax benefits. However, private health insurance does not exist; instead there are private hospital insurance plans that you can purchase if you take time to compare health insurance policies available to you such as a plan with a 20% co-payment clause from your own pocket.
Many people prefer to purchase health and life insurance plans towards the end of every financial year because it provides a way of saving on tax. Due to the constant escalation of medical costs, having health insurance is unavoidable. One thing that makes it a difficult task is the fine print and industry jargon used, and the confusion brought by indecision about what you want. Here are a few important tips to help you solve the insurance puzzle.
Make a Comparison of Plans Available Online
Health plans can be compared online across several frames of reference such as costs and duration. Find an aggregator of various financial products to help you understand what kind of policy best suits you needs. Things to look for include benefits for maternity, free medical examinations, ambulance charges, convalescence benefits, coverage for day care, no-claim bonus, OPD coverage, treatment coverage, and options for non-allopathic treatment. Christians are not immune to the stress of today's financial struggles. Considering the fact that finances is one of the leading factors in divorce, it is important to understand how to divert off a road to poverty and debt and enter into prosperity.
So, where does a Christian couple start in untangling their financial mess? There are some steps to take that can, over time, make your life easier and reduce stress.
Figure Out Where You Are

Many Christians strive in their day to day lives to make their neighborhood, their state, and the world a better place for all. This concern for the state of the world around us should apply equally to our business ventures. In fact, it is while conducting business that many of us are most likely to find ourselves having the trust of a complete stranger placed in us, trust that we will conduct ourselves morally and that the advice we dispense can be trusted. Of course, it is important that our businesses are places that welcome even those we have sharp disagreements with through our doors, otherwise, we are betraying some of the most important values of acceptance that Christians are supposed to follow.
Striking a Balance
Sometimes we may find ourselves put in what feels like an impossible position; having to choose between our faith and our livelihoods. When this occurs, there is no right or wrong way to proceed and it is up to us to apply our best interpretation of the Bible while considering the rights of the customer, as well as our obligations to our business. It can be a very delicate balancing act and it is up to the individual to behave in what they feel is a most appropriate way towards the customer. FULL POST

Beauty is inherently in all religions. The stories told in ancient texts tell of incredible feats of the human spirit and of untold wonders that lie beyond the gates of life. There is little that can be compared to what people imagine the heavens could be like, except for jewelry. There are several types of stones and precious metals that capture people's imagination, which is probably the reason jewelry has been used in religion for all sorts of reasons that are going to be explored here.
Ancient Use of Precious Stones
Precious stones have been used for spiritual purposes since they were discovered. For example, diamonds were once thought of as supernatural stones that could ward off evil spirits and help people deal with ailments. Some people swallowed small fragments to get rid of diseases. Ancient Vedic texts also speak about gems and their power to heal a person. Christians used to use precious stones and metals to establish a channel of communication between God and themselves.
Precious Stone Use Today
Believe it or not, there are many religions and even scientists who have noted that some precious stones seem to give off energy waves. Some of that ancient knowledge might have some truth to it. FULL POST
