How To Shop For Weight Loss and Saving Money

Health incorporates all aspects of life. What crosses your lips is of most interest to us in the profession of weight loss. And what crosses your lips starts at your local grocer. There are some very simple applications you can apply when food shopping that is both healthy and will save you money (another aspect of health!). These include:
• Shop the periphery of the store where the lean meats, dairy and produce are. Avoid the processed, caloric dense products found on the shelves
• Never go to the store hungry. Incidentals cost you money, and will more than likely be fat or sugar heavy foods.
• Plan your meals ahead of time, and buy only what you need
• When you are able, buy in bulk and stick to store brand canned and packaged goods
• Avoid purchasing liquid calories such as pop, fruit juice, and energy drinks. I personally would rather chew my calories than drink them.
• Buy local in-season foods such as Apples, Carrots, Collard Greens, Mushrooms, Onions, Pears, Potatoes, Rhubarb, and Winter Squash. These are good for you and cheaper when in season.
Optimal health is a choice. It is a lot simpler choice when you plan ahead and stock your food bins with healthy options for you and your family. It also is a healthy choice to protect your wallet anywhere and everywhere you can. Learning to shop for your food is the best place to start.
