After we saw what a great warrior is Benaiah, we shall go now to the beginning of the book of kings and we will examine the second option: the one that speaks about him as the terminator.
From my point of view a terminator is one that kills the enemy, whether it is true enemy or the enemy of the person that responsible over the terminator. In 1 Kings 2 we can see that Solomon the king, who just became a king over the people of Israel, after his father, David, died, he is the sender of the terminator, Benaiah.
It is very common in those days, some will say even in these days as well, to wipe out, literally or metaphorically, your expected enemies- so don't think my friends that what I will tell you is different or unique.
The first appearance of the terminator is in verse 25, as written:
"And King Solomon sent by the hand of Benaiah the son of Jehoiada; and he fell upon him, so that he died"
Benaiah kills Adonijah, Solomon's big brother, who was the natural successor of David, after he wanted to marry Avishag, who was David's maid...
The second time is in the altar, when Joab, who was the chief of the army, that ran away and held the sides of the altar (this is a sign to protection).
Benaiah took him from the protection and killed him, without thinking, as written in verse 29:
"And it was told King Solomon: 'Joab is fled unto the Tent of the LORD, and, behold, he is by the altar.' Then Solomon sent Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, saying: 'Go, fall upon him."'
The third time is in the end of the chapter in verse 46: benaiah kills Shimei, just because he went out from Jerusalem for a food reason and Solomon commended him not to do it, as written:
"So the king commanded Benaiah the son of Jehoiada; and he went out, and fell upon him, so that he died. And the kingdom was established in the hand of Solomon"
With no enemies after the terminator killed all of them, Solomon could quiet!
