A story of devotion- Elisha say goodbye to his master, Elijah

Whenever I want to exemplify to term devotion to my pupils I am telling them the story of Elisha, the prophet the became a prophet due to the over zealousness of Elijah, the prophet that left his mother , his father and his work as a farmer and went to replace someone which is irreplaceable in one way or another.

In the second book of kings in chapter 2 we can see that in the beginning we have the end, this is story that in the end of it we will say goodbye to Elijah , he will go up to sky , and may come back with the messiah or in Passover.

All the people know this reality, but Elisha can not leave his master as written 3 times in that chapter:

"חַי-יְהוָה וְחֵי-נַפְשְׁךָ אִם-אֶעֶזְבֶךָּ"

"As surely as the LORD lives and as you live, I will not leave you" (2 Kings 2:2, 4, 6)

6 words in Hebrew as at least 15 words in English, by the idea are the same: once you are loyal to someone else or something else, you will not leave him even if the end is near, even if you sure in 100 percents that there is no way to come back. The loyalty of Elisha here is double - to his master in the earth and to his creator, our Lord.
This is story that needs to be said a lot to people around the world....
