The Sydney Morning Herald reported yesterday that Russell Crowe is reportedly separating from his wife of nine years Danielle Spencer.
The pair met before Crowe's acting career took off in the U.S. and later married in 2003. The two live in Australia with their sons Charles and Tennyson, aged eight and six. However the "Gladiator" actor has reportedly been spending more time overseas as his acting schedule has inceased.
Crowe has seven films coming out in the next year according the Sydney Morning Herald. Of the seven films, Crowe is slated to play the lead role in Darren Aronofsky's upcoming movie Noah. Aronofsky, the film's director, says the biblical story is "about environmental apocalypse" and calls the story of the ark "a great story that's never been on film."
The couple said they are now focused on protecting their children.
