In a classic show of one-up-manship, the 2012 Democratic National Convention will trump the Republican National Committee's Clint Eastwood guest spot with starlettes Scarlett Johansson, Natalie Portman and Kerry Washington.
The three actresses are featured in a tentative 2012 DNC schedule released to CNN. According to CNN, the women will be a warm-up act to Vice President Joe Biden and President Barack Obama's Thursday speeches.
The women are not strangers to political activism. The Christian reported last spring that Johansson endorsed federal funding for Planned Parenthood Federation of America in a television ad. Johansson also attended the White House's correspondents dinner last year along with former flame Sean Penn.
Portman and her fiancé Benjamin Millepied made news when they signed Freedom to Marry's petition supporting gay marriage.
Washington was reportedly a vocal Obama supporter in 2008.
The actresses are not the only Hollywood figures to grace the DNC Stage. Harold and Kumar actor Kal Penn spoke Tuesday night, encouraging young voters to support the Obama campaign.
Kal Penn, also a member of Obama's National Arts Policy Committee, referenced Eastwood's empty chair bit by thanking the "invisible man in the chair" for bringing terrorist leader Osama Bin Laden to justice.
We will be watching to see if Johansson, Portman and Washington also mention the ever popular chair.
