Viewers of VH-1’s TLC biopic CrazySexyCool will see how premarital sex and abortion devastated Rozanda “Chilli” Thomas’ life.

Sneak peeks of the anticipated TV film show Chilli, as played by Keke Palmer, falling for music producer Dallas Austin. Though Chilli is head-over-heels for Austin, she was one of his many love interests. The biopic shows how devastated Chilli was when she learned another woman was having Austin’s child. “I’m the one that’s supposed to be having the baby,” she howled.

In fact, Thomas told VH-1 in her reality show Chilli Wants More that she was pregnant with Austin’s baby but got an abortion. She said of the abortion “It messed me up. It broke me up. It broke my spirit. I feel like I became not my strong self anymore.” She continued, “I feel like I gave in and broke to what someone else wanted. I would break down and just cry because I wasn’t a mommy. I cried almost every day for almost nine year.”

VH-1 will air the much anticipated story of ‘90s R&B t group TLC tonight. TLC won several awards including five GRAMMY Awards and five MTV Music Awards. However “CrazySexyCool” focuses more on the challenges that the musical group experienced over their 14-year career with Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes. This sober portrayal was by design.

Group members Thomas and Tionne “T-Boz” Watkins acted as executive producers to the film. They told Fuse News that they wanted others to learn from their stories. CrazySexyCool shows other struggles such as Watkins’ bouts with sickle-cell disease, the group’s troubled finances and Lopes’ sudden death.

“I think it’s a story that needs to be told. There’s a lot of artists, there’s a lot of people who go through things in life and we’re not sitting up here pretending to be perfect but it made us who we are today and we learned from our lessons,” Watkins said.

One of those lessons is that aspiring artists do not have to stripe down in order to be successful. “Your talent can speak for itself and I think there’s [sic] a lot of talented females out here that don’t have to take that route (of showing nudity); that are talented enough to keep their clothes on and still sell albums,” Watkins said.

Watkins is currently a single parent to daughter Chase. She also has a reality show called Totally T-Boz where she focuses on rebuilding her career and caring for her family. Thomas continues to appear on television through reality shows and music videos.
