We all understand the way things are in these days, we all have to do what we must moving forward. Ruff times builds our Faith / draws us closer to Our Lord Jesus Christ and our Father in whom we place our trust.
Our Father in Heaven desires the best for us as we do our kids - I believe this is why HE designed the Family. So we can all, more clearly understand the relationship HE desires from each one of us, HIS children.
Remember when our children were very young, they were completely dependent upon us ( the parents) and did not have a care in this world - playing - learning - enjoying - as they knew ( trusted us ) we would take care of them, supplying all their needs and they never gave it another thought.
Then as they grew up they became more "independent" expecting our care (yet deep down knew it was all ok) then they grew a bit older and now they are no longer dependent upon us, yet themselves.
We can reflect back on our childhood and certainly see, at least a few, Carefree days, based upon pure trust. Do you remember?
Christ stated that we must look upon the Kingdom of God with the eyes of a young child.
I take this to mean, realizing no matter our age, we are dependent upon our Father in Heaven. HE states he knows each of our needs (as we know the individual needs of our children) and HE will provide the needs HE knows we truly need; of course, it is not necessarily what we may think we need.
It is when we each get to the age of "independent" do we truly & willingly remain humbly dependent upon (Trust) Our Father in Heaven through Our Lord Jesus Christ?
Or do we "worry"
As you, I have cut back on items, in these times 2009, I do not really need - without doubt I could make even more cuts in spending (such as no Direct TV just Reg. TV Ouch!) yet, more importantly, have not gone without in the truly important items, i.e. food, shelter etc.
Something we all would do well in doing; giving what we can to a food bank - better yet, to someone we know in need this Christmas and each day.
Wishing all a Blessed & Merry Christmas and a very Happy New year
