The GOP and the Liberal Media
The recent supreme court decision reminds me of the 1996 movie, Mars Attacks. In this movie, Jack Nicholson plays the part of the U.S. president James Dale. In a presidential address to the nation Dale says “You have two out of three branches of the government working for you and that ain’t bad!” How I wish that this was the case. It seems that the U.S. government is at war with the American people. The current state of affairs has to change, and soon if there is still to be a United States of America.
There is a lot of hope these days that the Democratic party will lose the presidency and perhaps more seats in the house and in the senate. Unfortunately, I know that not every republican is a conservative. This means that I cannot be sure that that anyone who has an “R” behind his name is for me and my concerns. Those who vote Democrat, on the other hand, can be sure of the fact that they have someone who will fight tooth and nail for their liberal agenda. Too many Republicans are go-along, get-along, good for nothings, who stand only for acceptance by a liberal media. Democrats take a no-holds barred approach to politics. Take for example Chicago style politics. Anything goes, if it will help you win. Democrats are undeterred by scandals, in fact, they seem to revel in them. Republicans, in contrast, seem to operate with the marquis of Queensbury rules; that is, if they will fight at all.
Too many Republicans want to be liked and seen as bi-partisan. Generally, the term bi-partisan is used only for the Republicans who set aside their convictions and agree with the Democrats. Similarly, moderate Republican means someone who is loved by the liberal media, take for example, Chief Justice Roberts. What is so ridiculous about this is that the liberal media counts for nothing. Almost nobody watches CBS, NBC, ABC, CNN, or worst of all, MSNBC. If the NY Times is so great, why are they in financial difficulty? The same can be said for all of the other liberal newspapers. Strangely, FOX News and the Wall Street Journal have an ever- increasing audience. When one considers the influence of the Drudge Report, and talk radio (Rush Limbaugh and others), it amazes me that the Republican party pays any attention whatsoever to the liberal media.
Perhaps, the Republican party is math challenged and can’t compare numbers accurately. This is the only logical explanation for their behavior. As a case in point, take John McCain, who whisked Sarah Palin away after the RNC convention and secluded her away from talk radio, FOX News or anyone else who would give her a fair shake. Instead, he has Palin interviewed by the people who were the most to her. In contrast, most liberal Democrats avoid FOX News because they realize that they will be challenged with real questions and not have softballs lobbed their way that they can knock out of the park. The only other possibility for the Republican party’s love of the liberal media is that they are liberal themselves. Similarly, I can’t rule out the possibility that they are just publicity hungry media whores.
The liberal media works overtime to keep conservative Republicans in line. It attempts to make conservatives look stupid for using their common sense and wanting to stand up for freedom and economic prosperity at home. The liberal media also despises Republicans who are for a strong foreign policy or who reject most of the climate change nonsense. We need statesmen who understand what dangerous times we live in and will fight for our side to win. For example George Tecumseh Sherman, George S. Patton, or Tom Delay understood that civility is a virtue only after you have won the war. I want for our side to win and the other side to lose, because with our national debt and an ever increasing socialism I realize that my America is circling the drain unless we take drastic action to reverse our course. The TEA party understands most of the dangers that we face, but I am not sure that the Republican leadership does. There is no need for genteel, pseudo-intellectuals, in need of a spine transplant to fill congressional offices. We need men and women of conviction who are tireless in their fight to save the country. We need to vote for men and women who fear God and who have no fear of the toothless lion that the liberal media has become. In the end, we can only put our trust in the Lord to make things right.
