Numbers 13:31 (NLT)
But the other men who had explored the land with him disagreed. “We can’t go up against them! They are stronger than we are!”

These are the words of the twelve spies that were sent to explore and search out the promised land. This is the report they brought back to Joshua, Caleb, and the rest of the people of Israel. How discouraging and disapproving this report is! To feel weak in a country that was supposed to be theirs must have been a disappointing feeling.

But Joshua and Caleb also searched out the land. And they came back with a different report. In Numbers 14:9, Joshua and Caleb said, Do not rebel against the Lord, and don’t be afraid of the people of the land. They are only helpless prey to us! They have no protection, but the Lord is with us! Don’t be afraid of them!”

The twelve spies and Joshua and Caleb all went to the same place and saw the same things in Canaan. But Joshua and Caleb chose to believe God’s promise and get in agreement with His will. God had previously told them that the land was theirs. God had already declared victory for them before any battle had been fought. Joshua and Caleb chose to believe that what God had promised, He would bring to pass.

What are you wanting to happen in your life? What are you saying to yourself and to God about your situation? If God has already promised you something, don’t doubt that He will bring it to pass just because it doesn’t come wrapped like we think it should. Joshua and Caleb were the only two who chose to agree with God, go with God, and say what God said. And they were the only two to enter the promised land.

Stop looking for people’s approval. Don’t rely on people’s opinions and promises. Refuse to let the look of a situation determine the final outcome. God knows what He has planned for you. God knows what is up ahead of you and when He tells you that something is going to happen, be assured that it will. Say what God says about a situation. Go where God tells you to go. Agree with God and you will enter the promised land He has prepared for you.

“Faith is agreeing with God and saying what He says about you.”
