Always and Forever (365 Days of Daring Faith – DAY 9)

Lamentations 3:22-23 (NLT)
The faithful love of the Lord never ends! His mercies never cease. Great is his faithfulness; his mercies begin afresh each morning.

We live in a cloudy world. Terror and trouble are on every side. Chaos and confusion surround us at nearly every turn. However, as bad as some things seemingly are, they could always be worse. It is a credit to the love, mercy, and faithfulness of the Lord that they are not. Because of God, there is hope for brighter days.

When all seems lost, nothing is really lost. In the middle of some affliction or problem, we must remember God’s promise to love us endlessly, to extend mercy to us unceasingly, and to be faithful to us always and forever. God is an inexhaustible fountain of love and mercy that is always overflowing into our lives. We experience it both in the best of times and the worst of times, and we should never cease remembering God’s compassion toward us.

Whatever hard things we face, we must never raise our fist in anger to God. We must accept whatever comes our way as His divine will for us. He knows best. After all, He is the perfect Heavenly Father. Be ready and willing to embrace the promise that in spite of all the things we face, God is both kind and faithful, loving and merciful. He keeps His promise to be all of these things to us.

When human comforts fail and friends flee, God’s compassion and companionship remain the same. It renews every morning. Nothing in the world is more comforting and awe-worthy than that.

“Some people don't understand the promises they're making when they make them," I said. "Right, of course. But you keep the promise anyway. That's what love is. Love is keeping the promise anyway.”
