God Is Enough (365 Days of Daring Faith – DAY 12)

text size A A A

Matthew 6:26-27 (NLT)
Look at the birds. They don’t plant or harvest or store food in barns, for your heavenly Father feeds them. And aren’t you far more valuable to him than they are? Can all your worries add a single moment to your life?

There seems to never be enough. Some complain of not having enough time while others gripe about not having money. Not enough houses or cars, not enough knowledge or investments, not enough credit or enough good health. Not having enough often leads to worry. But worry never works.

When we worry, we act as if God does not exist. God promises that He will take care of us and give us all we need, not necessarily all we want. We can waste precious minutes worrying about what we don’t have to the neglect of what we do have, and still not be happy.

If God cares for the birds of the air, don’t you think He will care for you and me? Can worrying add anything at all to your life? The answer is, No. Worry hinders everything we want or need from coming to pass. Worry demonstrates our lack of faith and ties us up meddling in challenges too large for us to handle.

When we allow God to be God, we will find that He is enough. His promises are still “yes and amen.” He cares for the smallest of matters and the toughest of situations and because He cares so much, we should just let Him have it. God is enough. God makes impossibilities possible. God loves us more than we will ever know. Because He is all of these things, we need to let God be enough for us.

“Worry does not empty tomorrow of its sorrow, it empties today of its strength.”
