Overflowing Joy (365 Days of Daring Faith – DAY 13)

text size A A A

John 15:11 (NLT)
I have told you these things so that you will be filled with my joy. Yes, your joy will overflow!

What do you think about when you think about God’s joy? It is overflowing, even overwhelming. It can’t be decreased or jaded by any circumstance. God’s joy is incomprehensible and unmeasurable. Nothing gets Him down or puts Him in a bad mood — not even bad weather or traffic jams.

God’s joy cannot be quenched. No circumstance or trouble can steal His joy. This is the joy He wants us to have as His children. Joyful believers and followers are the delight of Jesus Christ. Those who follow Jesus and faithfully pursue His passion and purpose have continual, abiding joy that is overflowing and overwhelming. Nothing can quench it or conquer it.

The happiness of the world cannot compare in the least to the joy that is found in God. God’s love is a continual feast for those who are filled to overflowing with joy. The joy of the Lord can carry you through any eventual trial or trouble. Circumstances around you may seem bleak and I’m, but the joy of the Lord within you rises higher and higher and overflows and overflows into fuller and brighter things.

Those who choose to remain in God have their joy full. Worldly joys never satisfy, only temporarily. Christ’s joy abides and endures through everything, in everything, with anything, permanently and forever. One of Christ’s duties is to fill His children with joy as we travel in this life. He wants our joy to be full, not only for His glory but for our testimony to the world. In Christ, life only gets better and better, and our joy rises and rises until it overflows.

“Joy is the echo of God’s life in us.”
