Refuse to Worry (365 Days of Daring Faith – DAY 38)

Philippians 4:6 (NLT)
Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done.

Most of what we think about, we worry about. Much of the stress we encounter in life does not come from being overworked, overwhelmed, or overloaded, but from being over-worried. God tells us very simply not to worry. Instead, He commands us to pray and praise.

What Are You Pursuing? (365 Days of Daring Faith – DAY 37)

Proverbs 21:21 (NLT)
Whoever pursues righteousness and unfailing love will find life, righteousness, and honor.

What are you pursuing in life? Is it money, power, or reputation? Is it fame, fortune, or self-importance? Or is it something better like love, life, and service? Whatever matters most to you is the thing you will go after. We do not follow after something or someone that we do not love deeply. For many people, life is a chase. But what you are chasing determines your goals, motives, and purpose.

One Way Street (365 Days of Daring Faith – DAY 36)

Exodus 3:11-12 (NLT)
But Moses protested to God, “Who am I to appear before Pharaoh? Who am I to lead the people of Israel out of Egypt?” God answered, “I will be with you…”

You will recall that Moses had previously attempted to liberate the children of Israel from slavery in Egypt in his own strength. It did not work and God had to teach him an important lesson by putting him on the backside of the desert for 40 years. Here we see God giving Moses a second chance to do it the right way — God’s way not his way.

Treasures Above (365 Days of Daring Faith – DAY 35)

Matthew 6:19-20 (NLT)
Don’t store up treasures here on earth, where moths eat them and rust destroys them, and where thieves break in and steal. Store your treasures in heaven, where moths and rust cannot destroy, and thieves do not break in and steal.

Adrian Rogers tells the story of a man who did something distinctly different with his household trash. Instead of bagging it up and setting it on the curb like his neighbors, he placed it in a box enclosed in nice wrapping paper. Without exception, someone would drive by this man’s house and pick up the nicely wrapped boxes. The man would watch from a window in his house as people were fooled by the external beauty of the internal trash.

Trusting and Blessed (365 Days of Daring Faith – DAY 34)

Psalm 2:12 (NLT)
But what joy for all who take refuge in him!

We live in a world that is often void of truth. It can be hard to trust what people say when promises are so easily broken and hearts are so quickly damaged. We all want to be able to depend on someone — a close friend or family member — at certain times when it is especially needed. For many people, trust does not come easily due to past experiences. However, if we cry out to God, we will find Someone who willingly bears our burdens, hears our prayers, and covets our trust.

Amazing Things Are In Store For You (365 Days of Daring Faith – DAY 33)

1 Corinthians 2:9 (NLT)
That is what the Scriptures mean when they say, “No eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has imagined what God has prepared for those who love him.”

God has amazing things planned for you. These things are beyond imagination, deeper than you ever thought would be possible. Your background, your mistakes, your pain, your upbringing, or your experiences cannot change anything God has in store for you. You may not see it or feel it all the time, but you must believe that it is true.

God At Work (365 Days of Daring Faith – DAY 32)

Philippians 1:6 (NLT)
And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns.

God often uses difficult situations in our lives to work out His perfect plan and will. He doesn’t aim to scare us or make us fearful, but He does aim to make His glory known through the grace that should be evident in our hearts. The work of grace is a work of trust and goodness. It helps us to surrender to what God wants done in the world. It increases our faith. We are urged not to give up because God is still working on you and me.

Have You Checked Your Heart Lately? (365 Days of Daring Faith – DAY 31)

Jeremiah 17:10 (NLT)
But I, the Lord, search all hearts and examine secret motives. I give all people their due rewards, according to what their actions deserve.

When people go to the hospital for surgery, the doctor often orders an MRI. You know how I know? Because I am one of those many people. An MRI, or an X-ray, reveals what is going on on the inside of one's body. It helps the doctors and nurses find out the problem so they can know what actions to take in order to get the patient back to good health and wellness.

Gazing Upward (365 Days of Daring Faith – DAY 30)

Psalm 25:15 (NLT)
My eyes are always on the Lord, for he rescues me from the traps of my enemies.

Have you ever tried to play double dutch with friends in perfect straight sets? It looks fun and simple, but it’s not as easy as you might think. When attempting to play double dutch, most people keep their eyes on their feet only. Instead, one should focus on the direction of the rope and trust your feet to sync to the rhythm of the rope. Whenever someone faces this challenge with their eyes down, you can be sure that sooner or later they will get entangled in the ropes.

Live by Believing (365 Days of Daring Faith – DAY 29)

2 Corinthians 5:7 (NLT)
For we live by believing and not by seeing.

Every day we encounter is filled with unknowns. We don’t know what’s going to happen tomorrow. We are not told how our lives will be or end up when we are born. Even though we’d like to think there is, God does not offer a crystal ball for us to look into the future. We like to be sure of results and outcomes before we take risks. But nothing at all is certain.
