What Are You Pursuing? (365 Days of Daring Faith – DAY 37)

text size A A A

Proverbs 21:21 (NLT)
Whoever pursues righteousness and unfailing love will find life, righteousness, and honor.

What are you pursuing in life? Is it money, power, or reputation? Is it fame, fortune, or self-importance? Or is it something better like love, life, and service? Whatever matters most to you is the thing you will go after. We do not follow after something or someone that we do not love deeply. For many people, life is a chase. But what you are chasing determines your goals, motives, and purpose.

God tells us that if we pursue righteousness and life, we will find good things as a reward. A life lived in righteousness and live is a reflection of the light and goodness of God in our hearts and souls. Those we encounter will be moved by our choice to pursue God, His Word, and His will. In our daily lives, we must intentionally replace the temporary things of this world with the eternal glories of Heaven.

Is it easy to pursue righteousness? Absolutely not. It is trying and testing and trouble most of the way. But it is also a journey of joy and peace on the inside of our souls. Life, righteousness, and honor — great treasures and glories that every soul should long for. God gives us grace to do good and to be just to others. If we seek such a path, life, honor, and the crown of righteousness will be yours.

“To have found God and still to pursue Him is the soul’s paradox of love.”
