By providing the patients with a source of music, they will become more relaxed and less focused on the machines nearby. Helps With Cardiovascular Exercise

Exercising can sometime be a drag. This is especially true, when it comes to cardiovascular exercising. There aren’t too many people out there that like to get up bright and early and run three miles. This is why many people turn to rock and roll or upbeat form of music when exercising. Even if you have been listening to music while you work out, you might be surprised to learn that a recent study shows that listening to music actually makes you feel like you are getting more out of your workout. A recent study in oxygen consumption was conducted in the United Kingdom involving 30 participants working out on a stationary bike.

Different participants were assigned different tempos of music while they rode their stationary bikes, and the ones that had the most upbeat tempos consumed more oxygen, meaning that music made them work out harder.

Music Aid In Dementia

It has been a well-known fact for quite some time now that music aids in memory. This is why many people opt to listen to music when they study for tests and exams. Well, since dementia affects memory a group of researchers came up with an innovative study that involved using live music and recorded music to aid with dementia patients. The results proved that patients, who heard live performances by a certain singer and then later listened to Lyricsify MP3s of that same singer, were able to communicate and recall memories better.

In fact, this study was so impactful that results were still showing four weeks after it was conducted. Patients had the ability to recall where they were, what they were doing, and whom they were with during the study.

Reducing Blood Pressure

High blood pressure is a major problem in the world today, which leads to millions of deaths by heart attacks and other heart related illnesses. Well, studies show that listening to music can dilated the blood vessels and increase the circulation. While this study was conducted on people with normal blood pressure, another study shows that listening to music can trigger the release of nitric oxide. Nitric oxide helps blood vessels maintain function and elasticity.
