Shall Tribulation

A new year has begun with all of its unknowns. However, we know who love us and who cares for us. We thank our God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ for His wonderful mercies in 2014. My family and I saw God’s workings in every aspect of our lives.

Many started 2014 and did not see it finished. Some started 2014 enthusiastically, and as the year unfolded so did their hopes and dreams. Some others fervently pursued their goals when suddenly they were blindsided by sickness, or by some sort of tragedy. How will we face this year ahead of us?

God loves us.  We know He does. Is God with us in the difficult times? Does this God of the Bible really care for us? Yes He is! Yes He does! The Word of God tells us in John’s Gospel Chapter 3 verse 16: “That God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son…….” God created us, He loves and cares for us. He sacrificially gave His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, to come in human form and die on a cross outside the city of Jerusalem over two thousand years ago. The Lord Jesus died the sinner’s death (that includes all of us), so the human raceindividually can believe and accept His death as payment for our redemption to His Holy Father and Himself. The Love of Jesus Christ

The love of Jesus Christ, what does His love look like - a baby lying in a manger?

Imagine if you will. The God of the universe in the body of a baby lying in a manger of hay in a small town called Bethlehem over 2000 years ago. Wasn’t that extremely inhibitive? The God, who created us, The One through whom everything that have life exist. Heb1:2 Jesus Christ came in the form of a human being, a helpless baby. He was confined to the limitations of a baby. He came not speaking or walking. (Being God, most likely He knew what was going on around Him.)

What love? Jesus Christ did not come on this earth as a man. God the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ wanted Jesus to experience this human life. To be truly able to identify with the human race, Jesus was conceived in Mary’s womb by the Holy Spirit, and His human life progressed from there. Being God, He may have been aware of His life in the womb. Imagine Jesus reaching out to His Father from within Mary’s womb. That would have been awesome! The Lord Jesus Christ truly sacrificed Himself to be in the womb of Mary.

What love? What humility!! Jesus Christ living the life of a human baby. Imagine the Creator cooing, making baby smiles, grimaces and crying – yet without sin. Awesome! Maybe He started walking at the age of ten months? His steps would have been wobbly. God in human flesh trying to walk; isn’t that amazing? I wouldn’t think Jesus just got up one day and walked. God is too gracious to rob Mary of such precious moments of watching her baby trying to walk. It might have been fun for Jesus as well. A toddler explores. He/she makes his/her way through the maze which is called home. The toddler tastes everything in his reaches. The toddler learns through touching, tasting, listening and observing. Jesus’ toddler experience may well have been more of a proving process rather than a learning one FULL POST

Who Can Be Against Us?

Photo: Pixabay/kropekk_pl - Public Domain

Who can oppose us in the presence of God? Who??

Romans 8:31 asked the question, "If God is for us, who can be against us?" There is no one, there is nothing greater than God - not on the earth, not under the earth, neither in the universe. God is the Supreme Being in the universe. Therefore, who can be against us? Who can be in opposition before God regarding His blood bought children?

No human being is any match for God. Can any human being approach God to contend with Him regarding His children? Can anyone foil God’s plan to give His child a job position, a promotion, a raise in salary, a blessing? Can any human being outwit God? In Job chapters 38 through 42 unto verse 6, God contrast Himself with man. Verse 4 of chapter 38 God says to man: “Where were you when I laid the foundations of the earth? Tell Me, if you have understanding.” God is mightier than all. He made mankind.

Satan? Can Satan be against us if God is for us? In the book of Job chapter 1:8, God asked Satan what he thought of God’s servant Job. Satan answered God and said in verse 10: “Have you not made a hedge around Him, around his household, and around all that he has on every side? Satan could not touch Job, nor his family, neither his possessions. I suspect Satan tried to penetrate, to find an opening in that hedge, but he could not. Out of his mouth he said God had made a hedge “on every side”. FULL POST

The Three In One in Our Daily Living

Photo: Pixabay/Nemo - Public Domain
Traditional symbol for the Trinity

God – Father, Son and Holy Spirit is involved in our living out our salvation.

When I awake in the morning the first thing I do is pray. The Holy Spirit is there in my praying to get it right for me. Romans 8:26 tells us: “Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.

The Holy Spirit intercedes for us on behalf of our prayers.

Many a time we cannot express what we are feeling or thinking as we desire. Our minds are twisted by our negative experiences, the untruths we have been told, the sinful ways we perceived in ourselves and others, our sinful acts that we have committed and are committing. All of these experiences and actions helped shape our thinking. The Holy Spirit cuts through all of our fog, and He knows what we should be saying to God, and He communicates it.

Sometimes in our praying we say things we should not say. Yes. Sometimes we sin in our very praying, and the Lord Jesus intercedes to the Father on our behalf.

The Lord Jesus Christ intercedes to the Father on behalf of our sin.

“Now He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God.” Romans 8:27 FULL POST

For as Many Are Led by the Spirit of God

What a privilege we have to be guided by the Holy Spirit. The God of the universe directing our daily lives here on this earth. Is this for real? Yes it is. The God of this universe surely has better things to do than to be engage in our daily, hourly, minutely living? After all He has a universe to run.

However, what gives God greater pleasure than to indwell His creation and guide them around the potholes of life. He leads us in the paths of righteousness for His Name’s sake. He enjoys our pathway as He accompanies us along the way. Psalm 22:3 tells us, “God enthrones Himself in the praises of His people”.

God desires to walk with us. God Almighty – Creator of heaven and earth called out Abraham to walk with Him. He would accompany Abraham to a place that He would lead him to. God promised to bless Abraham and to make his name great. Today, centuries later, Abraham is spoken of around the world. God guided Abraham in all of his travels. Abraham is called the friend of God.

God called Moses when he was living in his father-in-law’s house to accomplish a great task for Him. The task was to lead the children ofIsraelout of thelandofEgyptand into the land God had promised Abraham. God was with Moses every step of the way. God was with Moses when he went before Pharoah. God was with Moses when he encouraged the Israelites in Egypt and gave them hope. God was right there with Moses at the edge of the Red Sea. God was in the wilderness with Moses and the Israelites. God spoke face to face with Moses. Moses and God’s relationship became so close that God allowed Moses to see His back. God placed His hand over Moses face as He passed by, because no one can see God and continue to live on this earth.

God our Creator desires to be our Savior, our friend, and our Father. The Lord Jesus Christ when He started His ministry chose twelve disciples. These disciples accompanied Him throughout His ministry. God loves to be in the company of his people. All who come to God by faith through the Lord Jesus Christ for salvation receive redemption and the Holy Spirit. We are sealed with the Holy Spirit unto the Day of redemption – that is until the moment Jesus comes and takes His church with Him. Until that time, while we are here on earth, we are indwelt with the Holy Spirit. God Himself living in our spirit.

For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are the sons of God. Romans 8:14. This is the proof that you are a child of God. When you know and have experienced an exact time and place in your life when and where you asked and accepted Jesus Christ as your Savior. From that moment onward, you have experienced God’s Holy Spirit guiding you in your spirit.

God wants us to be sure we are one of his children. The proof that we are a child of God is His Spirit living within us. It is incumbent upon us to know that we are one of God’s children. The consequence of not being a child of God is eternal damnation. John 3:16 - 18

In the beginning God .......

Photo: Flickr/Dan Moyle - Creative Commons

January 1 is a new beginning. It is the first day of 2014. We have not been this way before. This is a new adventure for us all. We do not know what lies ahead of us. If we think upon this truth it can be a bit scary. We may have our plans. We may know what we desire to accomplish in 2014. However, the reality is, we do not know with any certainty what lies ahead of us.

Genesis 1:1 tells us in the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Have you taken a look towards te heavens recently? How vast it is. How magnificant it is. I love to travel by air, sit next to a window in the plane and watch the various forms of the clouds. Their beauty always take my thoughts to the One who created them. Psalm 19:1 declares: " The heavens declare the glory of God; And the firmament shows His handiwork." Take a look around you at nature as we call it - the trees, the snow in winter and beautiful blossoms and flowers in the spring and in the summer. In spite of the ravishes of sin the earth it is still an awesome place. God created them both.

In the beginning of our 2014 God should be the Creator of our dreams and of our goals. He should be our Navigator. Is God capable of navigating our lives through 2014? When I look at the heavens I think He is. When I consider the events surrounding the birth of the Christ Child in Bethlehem: The decree from Cesear Augustus that "all the world should be registered", the angels appearing to the shepherds while the shepherds watch their flocks, the star in the east leading the wise men to the baby Jesus, sending Jesus with Mary and Joseph to stay in Egypt until the death of Herod to name a few events. Surely our God, the Almighty God and the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ is more than capable of guiding our lives.

Let us give over our wills to Christ this year without fear. He can manage the universe. He made it. Heb 1:1, 2. He can surely manage your life and mine. Psalms 121 tells us our Lord does not sleep. He "keeps Israel". He will keep His Church as well. We can claim His declarations in Psalms 121 when we embrace verses 1 and 2. If Psalm 121 does not impress you, then look at the cross of Jesus Christ. He was humiliated, He suffered as no one has suffered, He was forsaken by His Father - He cried out on the cross, My God, My God, why have You forsaken me? He died for us all. God raised Him from the dead and He is alive forevermore. He is presently interceding to the Father on our behalf.

What a Savior!!! Surely we can place our lives in His hands in 2014. We will have peace. Whatever comes our way, or crosses our path, we will have a worry-free year.

The Christmas Story

Photo: Flickr/Ralph Daily - Creative Commons

I was alive once without the law, but when the commandment came, sin revived and I died. Romans 7:9

Sin came into the world through Adam's disobedience to God's will in the Garden of Eden. God had told Adam, ... of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it, you shall surely die". Adam died that day and so death passed upon the entire human race. Romans 5:12 No commandment was handed down from God to the human race at that time. However, the law of God was written in people's hearts, and their consciences were their guide either accusing them of wrong doing or else excusing them.

When God gave His commandment to Moses. Then was known what God demanded of the human race. You should have no other god before Me. You shall not kill. You shall not bear false witness. Honor your father and your mother ... to name a few. Exodus 20. God's Law opened our minds to God's expectation of us. God is holy and we were sinful.

Sin revived. Sin in our body rebelled against God's Law. The very Law of God awoken the sinful impulses in our bodies and we succumb to every evil desire. The Commandment that was to bring us to God, condemned us. The soul that sins it shall die. We could not keep the law, because of our sinful nature. The Law of God made us aware of sin, but it could not help us.

This is why a baby called Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea over 2,000 years ago. This baby born of a virgin woman named Mary came into our world to rescue us. "For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord." Luke 2: 11. Jesus the Son of God grew up to be a man. He kept the Law of God which none of us could do. He lived the Law. He is the sinless One. He is holy. Even the demons who met Him in his journeys along the way, recognized and called out to Him as the Holy One of God.

Jesus Christ came into this world to deliver us from the power of sin and to reconcile us to God. He came to pay the penalty of our sin which is eternal death and He did. On the cross at Calvary, some say 33 years some 33 1/2 years after He was born, He died the sinners' death. No one killed Him. He had the power to lay down His life and He had the power to take it up again (and He did). This commandment He received from His Father. John 10: 17, 18

I died with Him on that day . He lives in me. I am redeemed. It is your choice. You can either accept His redemption on your behalf or you can reject it. Jesus Christ - that precious little baby in the manger - came into the world to save sinners.

The angel said to Joseph in a dream ..... She (Mary) will bring forth a Son, and you shall call His Name Jesus for He will save his people from their sins. Matthew 1: 21

Hallelujah!!!

Do Not Give Up - Give In

Photo: Flickr/heyFilbert - Creative Commons

It is sad when we hear of someone who has taken his or her own life. When that someone is a believer in Jesus Christ it is even sadder to hear.

Christ Jesus died to redeem us from sin, to forgive us of our sin, as well as to cleanse us from all of our unrighteousness. Our redemption paid by Jesus Christ, includes three areas. Our Lord redeems us from the penalty of sin John 3:16; from the power of sin in our daily lives 1John 1:9; and from the presence of sin 1 Thessalonians 4: 13-18.

Believers in our Lord Jesus Christ easily accept and embrace our redemption from the penalty of sin. We believe the gospel. We accept the gospel. Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures ....1 Corinthians 15: 3, 4 We believe and accept John 3:16, 17, and there are other verses to solidify our faith.

No Worries there!!

The believer's redemption from the presence of sin is also a part of our salvation package. Our Lord Himself told us in John 14, He is going to prepare a place for us and He will come again and receive us unto Himself. At the gravesite of Lazarus's tomb, our Lord Jesus declared to Martha (Lazarus' sister). In the presence of His disciples, Lazarus' family, friends and mourners, I am the Resurrection and the Life. John 11: 25, 26. Other scriptures including 1 Corinthians 15: 21, 22; 1 Thessalonians 4: 13-18 confirm and support our deliverance from the presence of sin. We will live eternally with God.

God has fully taken care of, and dealt with the removal of our penalty of sin. God has fully taken care of our promised life with Him away from sin. We play no part in these two areas. What we did? We yielded ourselves to the Spirit of God and accepted Jesus Christ as our Savior.

However, our redemption from the power of sin in our daily lives while we are here on earth requires our participation. We have to forego our will and submit to God's will in our lives. This phase of our redemption gives us the most trouble.

We have a will and we do not want to give it up. We have a body that is sinful and corrupt. We cannot rectify our body. Our Lord at His return will give us a new body - just like His. The Book of Romans in the New Testament of the Bible - God's Holy Word - focuses on our flesh problems quite a bit. (Read chapters 1 and continue). Our flesh is a big problem, and we as believers in Christ have to acknowledge this fact.

We have to come to grips with our fleshly nature and with our body. Our body is not the innocent bystander as we may think. Our bodies are sinful. Our bodies stimulate our thoughts to sin and to disobey God. Have you ever gotten angry and it seems something flies up from the pit of your stomach into your throat, and all caution is thrown to the wind. Yes, your body is not as nice as you may think. Romans 7:22-25 However, getting rid of our body is never the answer.

The answer is in Jesus Christ. When Satan, sin and our bodies are captivating our minds in a common area, we must cry out to God - literally - HELP ME!!! We have to bow on our knees and pray!

God wants us to have the victory over our bodies and over our wills. God wants our participation in His redemptive process. He wants to cheer us on. When He sees us on that day, He wants to say with a BIG smile, "Well Done".

Do not give up. Give in to God's Will in your life.

Giving Thanks

Give thanks unto the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.
.....who has blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ Jesus. Ephesians 1:3
Let us read the account of the ten lepers who were healed by our Lord Jesus Christ in Luke 17: 11-19
In this event, ten lepers called out to the Lord Jesus Christ to have mercy on them. In verse 14 our Lord tells them to "Go, show yourselves to the priests". As they went, they were all cleansed of their leprosy.
If any of those lepers or all of them had said, "we cannot walk the streets in our condition, people will heckle us". They would have stayed where they were and they would not have been cleansed from their leprosy. They obeyed the Lord Jesus and they were all cleansed.
Verse 15 reads: "And one of them, when he saw that he was healed, returned, and with a loud voice glorified God." Spontaneously, that leper ran back. He was overjoyed. He was overcome with emotion. He was a leper and he was ostracized because of his condition. Now he was healed, his life will change. He is thankful. He is happy and everyone sees it. He expresses his thankfulness with a loud voice, and he falls down on his face at Jesus' feet in worship.
Were the other nine lepers thankful for their healing? We do not know. They did not show it if they were. The Lord Jesus told them to go and they went. They were obedient. They did as was required of them - nothing more.
We must do as our Lord requires of us. He will take care of any negative possibilities that our minds, or people may tell us can happen along the way. However, when we see the results of our faith in action. STOP!! Give thanks to the Lord our God. If you are excited? By all means--- Show it! Worship Him!!

The God of the Universe

Who is this God of the universe - this great expanse of galaxies, planets and stars.
The heavens declare the glory of God, and the firmament shows His handiwork. Psalm 19:1
The declaration of the glory of God is made known in the message of creation. This message is understood in every language. There is no people who cannot understand the speech of creation. Its message is powerful. (Psalm 19:1-3) The speech of creation tells of beauty, of power, of excellence in imagery, of wisdom, of glory and grandeur. Its message tells of a Being who is supreme in intelligence, wisdom, and excellent in power. The universe speaks volumes of the supreme intelligence and intricate wisdom of its Maker - The Almighty God, The God of the universe. I AM is His Name. (Exodus 3:14)
How could a majestic universe as this create itself? God’s “hand has laid the foundation of the earth” and his “right hand has stretched out the heavens”. (Isaiah 48:13). “For thus says the Lord who created the heavens,” “God who formed the earth and made it and established it. God who formed the earth to be inhabited” – says - “I am the Lord, and there is no other”. (Isaiah 45:18)
Could a universe of this magnitude sustain itself? Who can fathom the heights or the depths of this vast enterprise? Each day proclaims the majesty and awesomeness of I AM. Each night tells of the wisdom of its Creator. One day follows another with precision, and every aspect pertaining to the make-up of the day is awesome. The sunlit days, the cloudy days - the timing works. The night comes in succession to the daylight on schedule. The moon and the stars fulfill their duties faithfully. Every aspect regarding the period of a day works consistently and has been from the beginning of time.
The Almighty God who said— in the midst of the earth’s darkness and chaos—Let there be light and there was light. The Spirit of God hovered over the face of the waters when the earth was yet unformed. The stars and the moon he ordained - the sun to shine in the day and the moon by night. This God created the heavens and the earth and everything that is in them. “By the word of the Lord the heavens were made and all the host of them (the galaxies with their myriad of planets and stars) by the breath of His mouth.” Psalms 33:6
The Almighty God created all animals both in the sea, and in the earth, the fish of the sea and all the birds of the air. Who sustains the seas and the rivers with its fish and other creatures? Who brought them into existence? The God of the universe - Jehovah. “For He spoke, and it was done; He commanded, and it stood fast.” Psalms 33:9
Then God said, “Let the waters abound with an abundance of living creatures, and let birds fly above the earth across the face of the firmament of the heavens.” “So God created great sea creatures and every living thing that moves, with which the waters abounded, according to their kind, and every winged bird according to its kind. And God saw that it was good.” Genesis 1:20, 21.
The Almighty God, who said “Let us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness” Genesis 1:26 - created the human race. “And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; And man became a living being.” Genesis 2:7.
The name of the first man was Adam, and God placed him in a garden namedEdento maintain it. To Adam God also gave him the responsibility of naming the animals. “And the Lord God said, It is not good that man should be alone; I will make him a helper comparable to him.” Genesis 2:18. “And the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall on Adam and he slept; and He took one of his ribs and closed up the flesh in its place.” “Then the rib which the Lord God had taken from man He made into a woman, and He brought her to the man.” Genesis 2:21, 22. Her name was Eve. Thereby God instituted the union of marriage between the man and the woman.
This great, majestic God of the universe, the Creator of the heavens and the earth and everything therein, desires a relationship with you and me. The One who spoke to Abraham and said, (Gen 17:1) “I am Almighty God; walk before Me and be blameless”. He speaks to us today by His Son Jesus Christ – “through whom also He made the worlds”. He upholds “all things by the word of His power”. Heb 1:1-3
“After He (Jesus Christ) had offered one sacrifice for sins forever sat down at the right hand of God (His Father) from that time waiting until his enemies are made His footstool.” Hebrews 10:12,13
“For God” —the God of the universe – “so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.” John 3:16, 17
“That if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.” Romans 10:9
I AM WHO I AM - Almighty God, The Creator, The Sustainer, The Redeemer, wants to be your Savior.
