The Just Shall Live By Faith

Fri, May. 13, 2016 Posted: 06:10 AM

For in it - the Gospel - the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, "The just shall live by faith". Romans 1:17

....Noah was a just man, perfect in his generations. Noah walked with God. Genesis 6:9 How did Noah become a just man? Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord. Genesis 6:8 God made Noah just. God is Just and He is the justifier of those who believe in Him. Romans 3:26 Noah was perfect - fully matured - in his generations.

How did that happen? Noah walked with God. When you walk with someone, you have conversations with him or her. You learn about that person and they learn about you. A level of intimacy results from your walking and talking to each other. You or the other person limits or controls the level of intimacy between you. Thus Noah didaccording to all that God commanded him, so he did.  Noah was obedient to God - all the time.

Another just man was Joseph - Mary's husband. Matthew 1:19, 20 He did not want to make Mary a public example, so he was thinking to quietly break off their engagement.

Another just man was spoken about by Pilate's wife. Matthew 27:19 ....."Have nothing to do with that just Man, for I have suffered many things today in a dream because of Him" (Jesus). Acts 3:13, 14 - Jesus was delivered up in the presence of Pilate. v14: But you denied the Holy One and the Just, and asked for a murderer to be granted to you.

It is God who imparts righteousness unto those who by faith believe and accept Jesus Christ as their Redeemer. Romans 2:21 Abraham believed God and it was accounted to him for righteousness. Galatians 3:6 We have to believe God and act upon our belief.

Noah acted upon his belief in God and build the ark - saving himself and his household. Hebrews 11:7
Joseph was about to act and God stepped in through his angel and he did as the angel told him.
Abraham acted on his belief in God, leaving his family and country not knowing where God was taking him. Hebrews 11:8

Jesus Christ left heaven and came to this earth to pay the ransom for sinners.

It is God who justifies. Today we can be "justified freely by God's grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus".

God makes us just - His responsibility.
We live by faith - our responsibility.
