2. Lemon juice- Lemon juice can combat the fungi which cause dandruff. It can also mitigate the itching which is sometimes too irritating for you to endure.

Remedy - Blend the juice of one a lemon in one-quarter cup of plain yogurt, whisk it. Carefully apply it on your hair and scalp. Let it sit on for about 20 minutes before washing your hair with shampoo.
Another fruitful remedy will be to massage your scalp with a few teaspoons of lemon juice, but remember to dilute it by mixing with a little water. Leave it on for 5 minutes before washing it off with shampoo.

3. Fenugreek- it is a great kitchen herb which is an antidote to fungal infections. It also promotes the growth of hair.

Remedy - Soak two to three tablespoons of fenugreek seeds in water overnight. Grind them into a fine paste, in the morning. To make it more potent you can also add a few teaspoons of plain yogurt to it. Apply the paste on scalp and let it stay for a couple of hours. Wash off with shampoo. Repeat this twice a week.

4. Baking Soda- It is a kitchen favorite which has a number of uses. But it is especially effective in treating dandruff.

Remedy - Wet your hair slightly. Keep your hair wet then rub a spoonful of baking soda on your scalp. Leave it on for 60-90 seconds before washing it off.

5. Henna- Henna is a great remedy which boosts hair growth, giving your hair great volume and body. It also helps to gradually eliminate dandruff.

Remedy - Blend henna or mehndi with tea liquor, curd and lemon juice. Let this mixture sit for 8 hours. Apply it on your scalp and let it stay for 2 hours. Wash off thoroughly, and take care to remove the residue of the henna solution.

6. Multani Mitti - Multani mitti is not only great for your skin but apparently a great mask for you’ your hair as well, it helps to boost your hair health to a great extent. This effective dandruff remedy with multani mitti as its chief ingredient gives you soft, silky hair and hair which is completely free of dandruff.

Remedy - Make a thick paste using multani mitti, water and also add to its lemon juice. Apply this mixture on your hair and scalp and leave it on for about 20 minutes. Wash it off with plain water.

7. Neem Juice-Hailed as a panacea of many diseases, neem juice is great for curing dandruff. You can use neem juice with coconut milk to make it a great concoction to remove dandruff.

Remedy - Take ¼ cup neem juice, coconut milk, and beetroot juice and 1 tsp. coconut oil. Mix all the ingredients together and apply the pack into the scalp. Wash it after 20 minutes with an herbal shampoo and conditioner. Do this once a week to get great results.

8. Aloe vera gel – It is an effective solution to keep dandruff in control. Apart from its anti-fungal properties, it soothes the scalp and helps control itching.

Remedy - Take 5 tbsp. aloe vera gel you can scoop out the gel from an aloe plant for best results. Simply massage it into your scalp and let it stay for 30 minutes. Wash off the gel with a mild shampoo.

9. Olive oil- Olive oil can help get rid of the dryness of the hair, and can effectively moisturize your hair and reduce the flakiness of the skin which leads to dandruff. It rejuvenates your hair, making it look shiny and beautiful.

Remedy - Apply the olive oil to your scalp. Do this for about 10 minutes before you wash your hair. After that, you can wash your hair normally with shampoo. You can also apply olive oil right before you hit the sack at night. Follow the turban therapy by wrapping your head in a towel for the extra oil to be absorbed.
