Code Red--Vote Tomorrow

Senate Majority Leader, Harry Reid, released his 2,074-page version of the Senate health care reform bill-at an estimated price of $890 billion.

The price tag is obscene, partly because it includes funding of abortion-on-demand. Beginning on page 118 (under "Voluntary Choice of Coverage of Abortion Services"), it gives Kathleen Sebelius, Secretary of Health and Human Services, the authority to determine when abortion can be covered under the government-run health care plan. Remember, Ms. Sebelius was a very close ally of late-term abortionist George Tiller and she had a radically pro-abortion record as governor of Kansas.

Senator Reid's plan also requires abortion to be offered in the insurance Exchange
(line 13, page 120).

"What is even more alarming," says House Republican Leader, John Boehner, "is that a monthly abortion premium will be charged of all enrollees in the government-run health plan." (Line 11, page 122, section 1303, under "Actuarial Value of Optional Service Coverage")

These premiums will be paid into a US Treasury account, and then the government will use the money to pay for abortion-on-demand. If this happens, it will be the greatest expansion of abortion since Roe v. Wade and the number of abortions will skyrocket!

Bureaucratic text, as you can image, may require reading the paragraphs or pages before and after these links to get a fuller understanding of their meaning. Therefore, I'm providing a link to the entire bill which will allow you to delve into this more if you like. www.lifeissues.org/breakingnews/2009/hr_3590.pdf

The vote on "Cloture"-which would cut off debate and force the bill to the Senate floor-will likely happen tomorrow evening (Saturday).

This is the vote, as it takes 60 votes to invoke Cloture on the health care reform bill. If that passes, only a simple majority will be needed to ram through the entire health care bill-even if it still includes government-funded abortion.

Contact your two US Senators today and tell them:

Unless any health care bill includes the Stupak-Pitts language, a vote for Cloture is a vote for government-funded abortion!

The bill also has no prohibition protecting citizens from euthanasia or rationing. The controversy over mammograms this week has shown us just how pervasive rationing will be if this bill passes.

Saturday's Senate vote would likely impose funding of abortion-on-demand on you, me and all Americans who would be caught up in this ultimate scheme of the abortion industry. Please call your Senators today.
