Awakening Intercession, A conversation

text size A A A

I had the pleasure of being divinely connected with a young woman, Prophetess Nori Moore of Awakening Intercession Ministry. This young lady invited me to connect with her for 3 weeks on Facebook Live to dialogue on Intercession. Well, the enemy fought us technically in every way with one problem after the other. But we preserve. This is an excerpt of information that was shared during those sessions. Because of the length of those sessions, I will post several blogs to cover the subjects. Subject matters: 101 Defining Intercession 2)Characteristic of an intercessor 3)Role of an intercessor and 4)Levels of intercession

Awakening intercession: noun 1.an act or moment of becoming suddenly aware of something: 2)adjective 1.coming into existence or awareness: For example, you may fall asleep at a gathering and someone may play a trick on you while you are in that unconscious state, they may place a hat on your head, or paint your face etc. Because you of asleep, unconscious, you are unaware of what is happening. Upon awakening, you become conscious of what has been done. I am concerned that many intercessors seem to be sleep, unaware of what is going on around them. The goal of these dialogues will be to awaken the intercessor within you.

Defining Intercession: Intercession is the act of interceding on behalf of someone else or a situation or circumstances that you are asking God to change. An intercessor is one who practices the art of intercession and has dedicated themselves to regularly interceding on behalf of others.

Characteristic of an Intercessor: Character the mental and moral qualities distinctive to an individual. Characteristic 1.typical of a particular person, place, or thing.a feature or quality belonging typically to a person, place, or thing and serving to identify it.The profile of an intercessor is one who has an established intimate relationship with God. A person who life lines up with the word of God "ye shall be holy for I the Lord your God am holy" Lev. 19:2, A person, who studies the word of God, knows and meditates on the word of God. A person who has crazy faith and believes that NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE FOR GOD (Luke 1:37)

When you have been called to be an intercessor your first task is to examine yourself. Before you can intercede for anyone, you must understand that it is a process. You will be required to examine yourself, who you are in Christ, where you are in him. Psalm 51 is where we find David crying out to God, create in me a clean heart, renew in me a right spirit, purge me with hyssop. So the first thing is to be clean.

As we commit to the cleansing process, we enter into the purging part, where you ask God to show you the errors of your ways, the things that will hinder your walk etc., asking God to show you your weakness etc. As you commit yourself to this process, you can expect the enemy to confront you with thoughts of not being worthy, you are guilty of this, you did that etc. you don’t qualify to be an intercessor etc. You must know the word and know that when you confess your sins, God is faithful and just to cleanse you from all unrighteousness. You do not allow the enemy to beat you down.

Now as we talk about the characteristics of an intercessor, the intercessor is committed to living a holy life. Holiness is not a denominational issue. It is a way of life and a requirement from God that we be holy as he is holy. An intercessor must keep a repenting heart. Not because you are practicing sin but because you don’t want anything to stand in the way of your prayers being heard and answered. Intercessor must be willing to forgive.

Sometimes, there may be some things in life that we are faced with where forgiveness will be a hard task. For instance, if your son or family member was murdered, or you were rape etc. That is a hard thing versus someone talking about you etc

But even in those things, you must be willing to forgive. If you do not forgive, you give the enemy a legal right to withstand you and stand in the way of your prayers being answered. You must guard your eye gate, ear gate, and mouth gate. For example, when the series first came on of “How to get away with Murder” I was excited because this series main character was an African American Woman. However, by the time that picture was over, I was disgusted. Disgusted by how they pushed the homosexual agenda, the sex scenes. I deleted that picture and never watch another episode. Why? I can not allow that filth to enter into my eye gate, my ear gate and contaminate my spirit.

Intercessor totally, completely believe 100 percent the word of God. You can not pick and choose which word. You rely totally on the word of God. When people ask me what is your opinion on abortion, homosexuality etc. I tell them I don’t have an opinion. I have the word of God and that is what I stand on.

Be careful of someone who calls themselves an intercessor and when you ask them to pray for you, they want to know all the details. They want to know, the who, why, when, what happened etc. As an intercessor, I don’t need you to give me all the details. You will cloud my ability to pray for you. Why, because I’m hearing your side, your pain and your perception which will cause me to pray from the soulish realm rather than going to the word and relying on the Holy Spirit to reveal and pray through me.

Intercessors live close to God to be able to hear his voice through the word of God, through the ministers and the leading of the Holy Spirit. Intercessors are not just hearers but doers of the word of God. Intercessors can be trusted and do not reveal what they have been told to others. God holds us accountable for our behavior. They are self-conscious about the things they read, look at, listen to and how they conduct themselves in their daily walk with God.

Intercessor understands the high calling of intercession and dare not lean to their own understanding but are careful to seek the face of God and seek direction from the Holy Spirit at all times. Intercessors do not operate independently from God but are totally dependent on him, trusting his guiding hand to direct their paths. Intercessors confess "I do not know how to pray without the help of the Holy Spirit" Romans 8:26-27.

An intercessor does not pray what they think needs to be done but prays for the will of God. Intercessors pray with confidence because they confess what the word of God says about a situation.

For example "I am healed because God's word says I am your God that healeth you. Therefore, I can pray with confidence and totally expect healing for myself and the person I am interceding for because it is not my words but God's word that declares healing is a legal right to the children of God. The intercessor's job is to ask, confess and believe then it is up to God to perform, manifest and carry out his word.

Okay, more to come in next few days so stay in tune.
