Awakening Intercession-A Conversation (3)

text size A A A

We are continuing our conversation with Prophetess Nori Moore of Awakening Intercession. It is imperative for your understanding that you read the previous blogs. http://blogs.christianpost.com/prayer/awakening-intercession-29819/ In the first blog we talk about what is intercession and an intercessor.Second blog http://blogs.christianpost.com/prayer/awakening-intercessiona-conversation-29832/ we discussed the character of an intercessor.

In this segment, our focus is the Role of the Intercessor. Every job description has a set of duties that you are expected to carry out and master. As is it in the natural so it is spiritual. The job description of the intercessor instructs us to make supplication, prayers, intercessions, giving of thanks be made for all men, men ought always to pray, and study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed,

To fully understand your job description you must study and learn everything that deals with your job description. You must know what tools or weapons are available to you and how to skillfully use them. You must be consistent and persistent in order to grow in your calling. In the natural, on a job most likely you will have a supervisor who meets with you to provide guidance and assist you in your growth and evaluate your mastery of the necessary skills. Jesus is our intercessor before His Heavenly Father. He is the head and we are the body. God has not called you to be a lone ranger intercessor. You are part of his intercessory team and can not accomplish anything on your own. You must meet daily and often with him to receive instructions and allow the Holy Spirit to guide you every step of the way.

What I pray to do is to awaken intercession in you. That is to say, if you are wondering or sensing that God is calling you to intercession I pray that God will drop a Rhema word in your spirit saying, Yes, this is what I’m calling you to do. I’m going to use the analogy of cooking. Cooks, are familiar with something called “soup starters’ that will have some basic ingredients for the making of soup and then you add other ingredients as you like. So, I am going to share roles or job description for intercessors in the different arena. These are basic instructions on how to pray in different areas but it is up to you to study and perfect the technique under the leading of the Holy Spirit.

You must examine yourself and bring yourself before God on a daily basis. You practice getting in the presence of God by repenting and worshipping before presenting petitions.Your act of repentance for your actions, thoughts, behaviors etc takes away any legal ground the enemy may have to interfere with your prayers going up to the father. You are ready now to intercede for others.

We are mandated to pray for those in authority. There is a role for intercessors to play in the political arena. God will always have intercessors waiting to step forward when needed. So we pray for the Daniels, Esther's, prophets and prophetess in that area to come forth. If you find your heart is always praying for world leaders, world situation etc. then ask Holy Spirit to train you how to intercede effectively in this area.

Intercession for the political arena: Praying for them to come to know Jesus if they don’t know him, to be morally right, to care for the poor and needy, to uphold righteous laws, policy and procedures. To be surrounded by wise, godly counsel etc. Pray that God will compel them to that which is right in his sight. I Tim 2:1-4, Psalms 72:1-4

Men are mandated as the priests of their homes. Men prayers should be for God to help them to lead, protect, direct, and provide for the physical, emotional, and spiritual need of the family. Cover their wife in prayer. Be a good priest, lead the family in devotions, be faithful, correct and redirect as necessary. There is a need for spiritual fathers to stand in the gap for families where the father is absent. In Nehemiah 4:14 the word state Be not ye afraid of them: remember the Lord, which is great and terrible, and fight for your brethren, your sons, and your daughters, your wives, and your houses".

Wives.charity begins at home. I heard Juanita Bynum’s mom say your first missionary assignment is your home. Even when you are upset or displease with them, you have an obligation to take them before God. Here we go, you must first forgive before you can intercede. Pray for unity, work as a team, that God gives your husband wisdom, guide him as he guides the family, confess that children and husband shall rise up and call you blessed, God will help you to be skillful and know how to build your home. Proverbs 31, Eph 5:22

Parents have a mandated role as intercessors. When I say parents, I’m not just talking about your natural children but there are many children who do not have anyone to cover them. The word says to train up a child in the way he should go and when he is old he shall not depart. We do not always have to be harsh in the training. We can be firm and loving. You can reach out to those children who are neglected, abuse etc and begin to declare salvation, righteousness, and hope over their lives. Ask the Holy Spirit to teach you how to parent. Pray for children to be obedient & righteous, to have a heart for God, to choose right friends in school, work, social activities, Confess the Blood of Jesus as a wall between them & evil doers. Pray for laborers in their paths. Eph 6:1-3

Every believer should be praying for their religious leader and leaders in general. Learn to pray specific prayers for them. Pray for them as individuals that the lead a godly committed life to their wife or husband. They are God chasers, their families, personal finances, that they understand proper priority God first, their spouse and then ministry. So many pastors get this one wrong.

There was a time when divorce among pastors was unheard of. Not so now. Pray they are careful to minister to their helpmate first then attend to the needs of the church. Guard & protect their families and children from the pointing fingers, judgemental attitude regarding their children etc.Pray that they take time to refresh their mind, body, and spirit by taking needed time away. They are surrounded by wise counselors. Wisdom, knowledge and understand and fear of God rest on them. They are skillful leaders and operate under the anointing of the Holy Spirit. Shame and disgrace do not come near them. Bind domestic violence, you will be surprised at the domestic violence in the pulpit. This demon needs to be called out. Jer 3:15, Psalm 27:4

Pastor as an intercessor: To keep your heart pure and right with God so that you may impart that to your congregation. To pray for guidance in reaching the lost, leading the people to God, bringing deliverance to those that need it, teaching the truth, outreach ministries, to put the right people in the right position. To be a seer and hearer to know how to guard the sheep. To expose the enemy when you see him and not allow Satan to get a foothold in the congregation. To gauge the temperature of the church so that it does not become lukewarm. To have wisdom when correcting or rebuking so as to not destroy that soul but pull them closer to God. To demonstrate to the people the importance of loving God and walking in obedience. To lead the people in earnest prayer weeping between the porch and the altar and as you do so, the people will follow. Phil 1:1-30, Phil 2:1-2 Jer 3:15

Soul winners: Watchful for opportunities to witness. Know how to witness based on the word of God to clearly and simply explain the plan of salvation. Pray during service for the word of God to have free reign and go forth with clarity and with power. To pray for the glory of God to rain in the service. Cover every ministry of the church.Pray for the growth of the church. Pray during church service, binding up the power of Satan and loosing the hand of God for great deliverance, the salvation of souls. JAMES 5:16 Acts 16:31,2 Peter 3:9

Youth leaders: Be passionate about sharing your love for Christ. Be bold, courageous and unashamed to witness. To actively engage other youth in activities to introduce them to Christ, to strengthen each other. To pray for wisdom to demonstrate the love of Christ and present him in such a way that others will be drawn to the Christ they see in you. Ecl 12. 2 Tim 2:22-26

Teachers: Ask Jesus to blanket your school with blood protection. Take authority over your classroom, Pray for your students. Ability to discern the needs of the student.Invite the angel of protection to walk up and down the school property. Pray for discernment of plots and plans of the enemy that you will know how to combat him. That students & fellow workers will be drawn to the God they see in you. That their eyes will be enlightened. Deu 6:7 Eph 1:18-20

Principals: Ask Jesus to blanket your school with blood protection. Pray for Christian teachers to be drawn to your school. Pray for laborers in every area of your administration throughout the school system. Wisdom, knowledge, understanding and skillful in your profession. Cover your staff, students, financial & all operations of the school system. Pray that moral decisions to be made in the educational field. Romans 13:1-2 JAMES 3:1

Children: Pray to grow in the knowledge of God. Pray for parents to properly train their children. Pray for children who do not have godly parents. Be bold, courageous and unashamed of God. Pray to be filled with the Holy Spirit, led by the Holy Spirit and learn the voice of God. 1 Sam 3:7-11

Musicians and choir: Pray for sensitivity to the Holy Spirit to guide you in selection of music during service i.e. right songs, singer, that the anointing would rest upon each musician to evict evil spirits, to be able to enter into the presence of God thereby leading the people into the place of worship and praise, for unity, bind up competitive spirit. Praise singers and dancers to minister as unto God bringing him glory. 1 SAM 16:23

There are so many other areas: counselors, social workers, medical field, and law enforcement to name a few.

Watch for the last segment as we talk about levels of intercession
