Boko Haram a modern day Goliath

text size A A A

According to Wikipedia Boko Haram (pronounced [bōːkòː hàrâm]; usually translated as "Western education is a sin"), is a militant Islamist sect based in northern Nigeria and reportedly have connections to Al-Qa'ida This group continues its onslaught of attacks against the village of Nigerian kidnapped girls. They walk into villages kidnapping and killing at will and have kidnapped many others whose stories have not been reported on.

. Eleven parents of the kidnapped girls have died. Seven parents died during a militant attack and four others from heart failure and other illness. Reportedly, one parent went into a coma like state repeating the name of his daughters continuously until he died. This group has released videos making mockery of ‘#bringbackourgirls” by chanting bring back our soldiers.

All of this in spite of the fact that the military knows where the girls are but are afraid that they will all be killed during a rescue attempt. The government is reportedly negotiating on their behalf. A report by MICHELLE FAUL Associated Press states “At least two have died of snake bites, a mediator who was liaising with Boko Haram told AP two months ago. At that time he said at least 20 of the girls were ill - not surprising given that they are probably being held in an area infested with malarial mosquitoes, poisonous snakes and spiders, and relying on unclean water from rivers.”

Reporter Stoyan Zaimov(The Christian Post) reports that “ Boko Haram burned down four churches and killed dozens of worshipers in a major attack on Christians at the end of June in Kwada and Kautikari villages.” This group is also believed to be responsible for bombing that kill 14 Nigerian who was watching the World cup games.

It makes you wonder if the members of Boko Haram have mothers, sisters or children. Do they know the meaning of love or have any type of compassion for anyone or anything?

I encouraged you to continue to stand in the gap and pray for these babies as well as every kidnapped victim and their families. We stand on the word of God and confess his promises over them. We intensify prayers knowing that our God is God and he is able to do exceedingly abundantly more than we can ask or think according to the power that worketh in us. Lord we believe.

We plead Exodus 12:13 And the blood shall be to you for a token upon the houses where ye are: and when I see the blood, I will pass over you, and the plague shall not be upon you to destroy you, when I smite the land of Egypt

We plead 2 Chron 20: 5 And Jehoshaphat stood in the congregation of Judah and Jerusalem, in the house of the LORD, before the new court, 6 And said , O LORD God of our fathers, art not thou God in heaven? and rulest not thou over all the kingdoms of the heathen? and in thine hand is there not power and might, so that none is able to withstand thee? 12 O our God, wilt thou not judge them? for we have no might against this great company that cometh against us; neither know we what to do: but our eyes are upon thee. 17 Ye shall not need to fight in this battle: set yourselves, stand ye still, and see the salvation of the LORD with you, O Judah and Jerusalem: fear not, nor be dismayed; tomorrow go out against them: for the LORD will be with you. 18 And Jehoshaphat bowed his head with his face to the ground: and all Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem fell before the LORD, worshipping the LORD.

WE PLEAD PSALMS 27:1 The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid? 2 When the wicked, even mine enemies and my foes , came upon me to eat up my flesh, they stumbled and fell . 3 Though an host should encamp against me, my heart shall not fear: though war should rise against me, in this will I be confident…

· We plead Psalm 34:6 This poor man cried, and the LORD heard him, and saved him out of all his troubles. 7 The angel of the LORD encampeth round about them that fear him, and delivereth them. The eyes of the LORD are upon the righteous, and his ears are open unto their cry. 16 The face of the LORD is against them that do evil, to cut off the remembrance of them from the earth. 17 The righteous cry, and the LORD heareth, and delivereth them out of all their troubles.

· We plead Psalm 35:1 Plead my cause, O LORD, with them that strive with me: fight against them that fight against me. 2 Take hold of shield and buckler, and stand up for mine help. 3 Draw out also the spear, and stop the way against them that persecute me: say unto my soul, I am thy salvation. 4 Let them be confounded and put to shame that seek after my soul: let them be turned back and brought to confusion that devise my hurt. 5 Let them be as chaff before the wind: and let the angel of the LORD chase them. 6 Let their way be dark and slippery: and let the angel of the LORD persecute them

· Psalm 68:1 Let God arise, let his enemies be scattered: let them also that hate him flee before him. 2 As smoke is driven away, so drive them away: as wax melteth before the fire, so let the wicked perish at the presence of God. 3 But let the righteous be glad; let them rejoice before God: yea, let them exceedingly rejoice.

· We plead Isaiah 49:25 But thus saith the LORD, Even the captives of the mighty shall be taken away, and the prey of the terrible shall be delivered: for I will contend with him that contendeth with thee, and I will save thy children.

· We plead Isaiah 41:10 Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.

· We plead Psalm 27:14 Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD.

· We plead Psalm 91 over them He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. 2 I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust. 3 Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence. 4 He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.

· We plead Isaiah 54:17 No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness is of me, saith the LORD.

· We plead Psalm 38:15 For in thee, O LORD, do I hope: thou wilt hear, O Lord my God.

SPEAK THE ANSWER NOT THE PROBLEM. THE ANSWER IS IN THE WORD OF GOD. Father we come to you in the name of Jesus asking that the Blood of Jesus cover every kidnapped victim and their families. We apply the blood to their bodies every cell, tissue, gland, organ that you will give them good health even during this ordeal. We plead the blood of Jesus over their emotions and heart that you will strengthen and encourage them. We ask you to dispatch warring angels on their behalf and rescue them from the hand of the oppressor. Break the snare and make the way of escape for them. We ask you to dispatch ministering angels to meet their every need. Let the Angels of God show up in a mighty way and do miraculous things on their behalf. Release the spirit of repentance and conviction over their captors that will cause them to release the captives. We pray for those young girls that escaped that you will take fear away from them and comfort them. We send the word of comfort, hope and increase faith for parents and siblings that await their safe return. We ask that you ignite compassion in the hearts of all men and women that they shall cry out in intercession for these families. We bow down before you in continued worship understanding that in spite of how it looks you are still in control and all power is in your hands. Thank God who gives us the victory through the shed Blood of Jesus, the power of his Holy word and the power of his Holy Spirit.
