Innocent Man Sentenced to Death

text size A A A

INNOCENT MAN SENTENCED TO DEATH. Unfortunately, this statement is true. We may never know how many instances have taken place where an innocent person was found guilty in a court of law and actually put to death before the truth became known.

Can you imagine being on death row knowing that you are innocent? Can you imagine the struggle of the mind to comprehend how you came to be in this place? How could it be that the jurors did not see the flaws in the case, the mistakes that were made? Terrifying to know that the guilty person is out there and worse he knows that you are innocent but is willing for you to take his place, to pay his debt so he may remain free.

Imagine also, that the guards, tortured, spat on and humiliated, and tormented you. Imagine being beaten and tortured to the point that you are unrecognizable to those that love you. Your good name has been disgraced, your good work have been tossed away seemingly for nothing. Imagine even family and friends forsaking you, doubting your innocent, turning and walking away from you. Could you picture yourself asking forgiveness on behalf of those that have done these unspeakable things to you as you take your dying breath?

Jesus, son of God left all of heaven’s glory to come down to earth, took on the form of man to be offered up as a sacrifice for sins for the whole world.. Matt 27:17 Therefore when they were gathered together , Pilate said unto them, Whom will ye that I release unto you? Barabbas, or Jesus which is called Christ? The crowd chose to set a murder free before they would see this man called Jesus set free. The man who went about healing the sick, casting out demons, restoring sight to the blind, opening death ears and even raising the dead. Matt 27:22 Pilate saith unto them, What shall I do then with Jesus which is called Christ? They all say unto him, Let him be crucified Cruicify him, Cruicify him.

Yes, he was innocent. He came to pay the penalty for all sinners, to take your place, my place on Calvary. They beat him 40 stripes save one. At the end of each scourge were bones and rocks designed to dig deep into the skin and pull away flesh from the body. A crown of thorns pushed deep into his scalp to the point that blood streamed down his face.

God so loved Yvonne that he sent his son, Jesus to die for Yvonne (me) that when I believe I shall have eternal life. John 3:16 I was unfit to live, unworthy of his love and grace, unready to die but he came just for me. What a debt I owe to him, why he should love me so I shall never know. Yes, he came for me, he came for you as well but it is a personal thing. You have to put your name there and say “God so loved me”

Thank God his story does not end with his death. On the third day the beat of life goes on. He rose with all power in his hand. No that is not all. He is coming back to take all that believe to Heaven with him. God sent the comforter to teach and guide us until that day. I serve a risen savior. I know he lives because he lives in me and I feel him all over me.

THE ROMAN SCOURGE BIBLE

What would you do for someone who took your place, did your time, and took your punishment of death? What does Jesus want you to do to repay this debt? All he asks is keep my commandments and love me with all your heart, mind, body and soul. I think He has a right to ask that much.

If you do not know Jesus let me show you the way to know him in six easy steps.

1) Acknowledge you are a sinner in need of a savior. Jesus is the savior. Rom 3:23, 6:23 2) Repent which means to be godly sorry for your sins. Matt 4:17. 3) Confess with your mouth that Jesus is the Son of God who came, died, rose and is coming back again Rom10:9. 4) Forsake which means be willing to turn away from sin (leave entirely alone) and turn to God Isaiah 55:7 5) Believe in your heart that Jesus forgives and cleanses all of your sins (all, everything)Acts 16:31. 6) Accept him as Lord and Savior of your life and receive his love, mercy and grace, and all of the redemptive works of the cross as yours today. John 1:12

SPEAK THE ANSWER NOT THE PROBLEM. THE ANSWER IS THE WORD OF GOD. Heavenly father, thank you for loving me so much that you sent your son, Jesus to die for me that I may have eternal life. Thank you for the gift of the Holy Ghost to guide me from this life unto the next. I can never repay this debt I owe but help me to live for you and give you the glory in everything I do. I promise to love you with everything that is in me. I crown you with my praise and give you all of me that my body will be your temple and ask YOU TO LET YOUR GLORY FILL THIS TEMPLE. In the name of the father, son and Holy Ghost I pray. Amen.
