Just Another Day's Journey

Each day they we open our eyes is a new day that God has given to us. It is another day that he shows us his faithfulness, grace and goodness for the word of God states that he gives us new mercies every day. So each day we have another opportunity to do things better than the day before, to perhaps correct some mistakes, make right some wrong. It is another opportunity to make better decisions regarding our lives. It is another opportunity to make the decision to seek God more intensely than we did the day before.

A songwriter wrote, "It's another day journey and I'm glad about it". Sometimes we get so focused on the tests and trials that we go through that we forget to be "glad about it".

To be glad about the journey, glad that we serve a living God who loves us and guarantees that all things will work together for our good. I will praise thee, O Lord, with my whole heart. I will shew forth all they marvelous works. I will be glad and rejoice in thee, I will sing praise to they name, O thou most High. Psalms 9:1-2

God provides daily benefits for us according to Psalms 103. He forgives our sins, heals our bodies, redeems our lives from destruction, and crowneth us with lovingkindness and tender mercies... He gives us new life, new strength, he has made available to us joy for the asking and has ordained peace for us.Blessed be the Lord, who daily loadeth us with benefits, even the God of our salvation. Selah Psalms 68:19 He is faithful to every promise that he has given us; and watches over his word to see that it performs that which he has ordained it to do. He has a plan for us and his thoughts are good for us. Wow, God is thinking about me, thinking about you. He perfects those things that concern us. He knows the number of hairs on our head and our faces are imprinted on his hand. Who would not serve a God like this? FULL POST

RESOLVE TO SEEK GOD. 2 Chron 7:14 if my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray , and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

It is a New Day. The old year has come to a close and the new year has arrived.  This is a time when most people will reflect on the resolutions they established for the going out year and how successful they were or were not at keeping those resolutions.  At the same time they will establish new resolutions for the new year.

It is a New Day. Even as you evaluate the accomplishments and the failures of those things in your natural life it is also a time to do a spiritual inventory of your life.  What spiritual goals did you set for yourself last year?  Did you seek God's face to hear from him his plans for your life? Did the enemy bring distractions to deter you and derail your plans?

It is a New Day. Here are somethings to remember as you move forward in the new year. Ecc:15 Whatever is has already been, and what will be has been before; and God will call the past to account. Phil 3:1-15 (God's Word Translation) 13 Brothers and sisters, I can't consider myself a winner yet. This is what I do: I don't look back, I lengthen my stride, and 14 I run straight toward the goal to win the prize that God's heavenly call offers in Christ Jesus. 15 Whoever has a mature faith should think this way. And if you think differently, God will show you how to think. Isaiah 43:19 KJV Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth ; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert. FULL POST

Every day that you are able to open your eyes to see
a new morning is a day of thanksgiving. Many start out their day
going to a destination and never make it. Many lie down to sleep at
night and never wake up. As long as their is life their is hope. Your
circumstances can change at any time and any moment. Just give God
thanks for he is worthy and deserving of your thanksgiving.

One of the first lesson parents teach their children
is to give thanks. You teach them to say "thank you" when
someone gives them something, does something for them or says
something nice to them or about them. Saying "thank you" is
a sign of politeness, appreciation and gratitude. It makes the person
that is doing something for you feel that you do not take their
actions on your behalf for granted. It releases joy to both the giver
and the recipient of the gift. Just give God thanks for he is worthy
 and deserving of your thanksgiving.

In every thing give thanks : for this is the will of
God in Christ Jesus concerning you.1 Thess 5:18.

It is a good thing to give thanks unto the LORD, and
to sing praises unto thy name, O most High Psalms 92:1 FULL POST

I encourage you to read "Salvation Made Simple" if you have not read it at this point. I will briefly highlight some of the major points of that piece for you. Many view salvation as something that is mysterious, vague, hard to grasp and difficult to understand. It is not. Salvation is a simple process involving six simple steps: acknowledge, repent, forsake, confess, believe, and accept.

I will give you some simple definitions for the words we will be using. The word salvation is defined as deliverance from the power or penalty of sin. Acknowledge is to admit to be true. SIN any thing that violates or goes against the word of God. REPENT: To be godly sorry means that I am sorry about the things that I have done and willing to change my ways. CONFESS: Admit, own up to, and reveal. FORSAKE; Quit, give up, leave entirely alone. BELIEVE: Rely on, to have faith and confidence in. ACCEPT: Take, receive, welcome, and claim. Again, I encourage you to go back and read the entire piece on "Salvation made simple" to have a clear understanding of this discussion.

John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. God gave his son, Jesus as the gift to the world, to you that you may receive salvation. To receive the gift of salvation you must acknowledge, repent, confess, forsake, believe, and accept Jesus. It is that simple. FULL POST

Receiving salvation is not a complicated process. There are six simple steps to receiving salvation. They are acknowledge, repent, confess, forsake, believe, and accept. Salvation is defined as: preservation or deliverance from danger, evil, or difficulty b) a source, means, or cause of such salvation. 2a) deliverance from the power or penalty of sin.

ACKNOWLEDGE; is to admit to be true. Admit that you are a sinner and need a savior. You cannot save yourself. God sent his son, Jesus to pay the penalty for sin and to secure your salvation. Romans 3:23 for all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.

SIN: Any thing that violates or goes against the word of God. This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would. But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law. Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, Envying, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God. (Gal. 5:16-21, KJV). FULL POST

2 Samuel 12:4 MSG

The Message

"One day a traveler dropped in on the rich man. He was too stingy to take an animal from his own herds or flocks to make a meal for his visitor, so he took the poor man's lamb and prepared a meal to set before his guest."

I wonder how difficult it will be for those in Congress to vote on behalf of the little man and lift the burden off the poor. President Obama has proposed something rather outrageous to them. He challenges them to pay at least the same amount of tax as the "middle class aka working poor" That choice would not be so difficult if it did not affect half of those in Congress who are millionaires. I wonder how many lobbyists will lobby against this bill, oh, surely those that have millions to do so will.

I wonder how many millionaires not just in Congress but millionaires would take one month's salary and donate it to help that are in need? I wonder if they had to change place with "middle class" and live on middle class salary for one month if their heart would change towards the middle class.

I wonder how many of those that vote against the health plan has health coverage for their families. Do any of their families members go without medicine, or cannot afford to see a Doctor when they are ill. Has any one in their families found themselves in a situation where they were unable to pay the hospital bills or were denied medical access? I wonder if any of Congress has seen a family member go to the county and wait for hours to see a doctor and receive a prescription that they can not get filled because there is no money? FULL POST

Luke 11:9-10 And I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find knock, and it shall be opened unto you. 10 For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened

Let us look briefly at the definitions for ask, seek, knock, and wait. Ask is to put a question to, request information about, to try to get by using words. Seek is to go in search of, try to find or discover by looking for or to go to. Knock is to strike a sounding blow with the fist, knuckles, or anything hard, especially on a door, window, or the like, as in seeking admittance, calling attention, or giving a signal: to knock on the door before entering. Wait is to to remain inactive or in a state of repose, as until something expected 'happens (often followed by for, until, or until): to wait for the bus to arrive ;( of things) to be available or in readiness: A letter is waiting for you.

Jesus instruct us to ask, seek and knock and gives assurance that when you ask you shall receive, seek you shall find, knock and it shall be opened unto you. In the next verse he uses the words asketh, seeketh, knocketh. When you see "eth" on the end of the word, it means to do so continually. FULL POST

Job 22:28 Thou shalt also decree a thing, and it shall be established unto thee: and the light shall shine upon thy ways. We have often heard and read this passage of scripture but have you meditated on the meaning of this powerful word.

According to the dictionary decree is defined as a rule of law issued by a head of state i.e. president according to a certain procedures. It has the force of the law. In biblical times, the King had the authority to make decrees. The decree was a written document and would be very specific and clear about that subject matter. It was law and had to be carried out according to the King's wishes and failure to obey the decree was punishable.

The word established means: to set up on a firm or permanent basis, to achieve permanent acceptance or recognition for, to show, reveal to be true based upon the facts.

Now, let look at the definition for declare. Declare to make known or state clearly, especially in explicit or formal terms: to declare one's position in a controversy. 2.to announce officially; proclaim: to declare a state of emergency; to declare a winner.3. To state emphatically to show, reveal, or manifest: the heavens declare the glory of God FULL POST

Blood transfusion is a medical treatment that replaces blood lost through injury, surgery, or disease. The blood goes through a tube from a bag to an intravenous (IV) catheter and into your vein. Blood transfusions are necessary when there is an illness that causes bleeding, destroy blood cells, or needed because of injury or major surgery. Medical research confirms that life is in the blood. There are different opinions about the length of time a person can live without blood. Some believe it is as little as 1 minute while other suggest as long as 5 minutes. The point is you will not live long without blood.

Leviticus 17:11 11 For the life of a creature is in the blood, and I have given it to you to make atonement for yourselves on the altar; it is the blood that makes atonement for one's life. Jesus stated John 6:53 Jesus said to them, "I tell you the truth, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you. 54 Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day.

When a person receives a blood transfusion, he has a new opportunity for life, for healing to take place in his body. He will be able to continue to live but this is a physical change. His nature, thoughts, desires and motives are not changed because of this blood transfusion. FULL POST
