Shepherd is defined as a person who herds, tends, and guards sheep. 2) a person who protects, guides, or watches over a person or group of people 3) a member of the clergy.

We know that Jesus spoke of himself as being The Good Shepherd. John 10:11 I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep.. 14 I am the good shepherd, and know my sheep, and am known of mine. 15 As the Father knoweth me, even so know I the Father: and I lay down my life for the sheep.

The shepherd is the watchman over our souls. They are responsible for providing guidance, direction, warning, teaching, encouragement, and comfort to God's people. The shepherd has great responsibility resting upon his shoulders however; he/she is not perfect. Sometimes the shepherd falls, or makes a mistake bringing shame to the religious community. Sometimes the pastor comes under physical attack in their bodies because the enemy knows that they will not compromise the word of God. Sometimes a attack is launched against their families bringing division and confusion, marriage-breaking spirits. Smite the shepherd and the sheep of the flock shall be scattered abroad.

It is paramount that we pray for the shepherd. Some of our pastors are experiencing "burn out" or becoming disillusion with pasturing a flock that will not be subject to their authority as pastors. I think a contributing reason for the fall of so many shepherds is that there is not enough armor bearers undergirding them in prayer and interceding on their behalf.

Many are instead killing the shepherd with their mouths and working to tear down the vision or take over the vision instead of praying and agreeing for the vision. The body of Christ does not reverence the position of the Shepherd as in times past. In those times people believe the biblical saying, Touch not mine anointed, and do my prophets no harm (1 Chron 16:22) When David cut off the shirt of Saul who was pursing him with the intent to kill him the bible states and the men of David said unto him, Behold the day of which the LORD said unto thee, Behold, I will deliver thine enemy into thine hand, that thou mayest do to him as it shall seem good unto thee. Then David arose , and cut off the skirt of Saul's robe privily. And it came to pass afterward, that David's heart smote him, because he had cut off Saul's skirt (1 Samuel 24:4-5)

David realized that even though Saul was not in the will of God that it was up to God to deal with Saul. The body of Christ could accomplish so much more and preserve our religious leaders/pastors by talking to God on their behalf and not gossiping to others.

I encourage every church member to begin confessing the word of God daily over his or her shepherd. I send out this word of encouragement to every Shepherd, decree and confess over their lives. Isaiah 41:9-13Thou whom I have taken from the ends of the earth, and called thee from the chief men thereof, and said unto thee, Thou art my servant; I have chosen thee, and not cast thee away . 10 Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed ; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness. 11 Behold, all they that were incensed against thee shall be ashamed and confounded : they shall be as nothing; and they that strive with thee shall perish . 12 Thou shalt seek them, and shalt not find them, even them that contended with thee: they that war against thee shall be as nothing, and as a thing of nought. 13 For I the LORD thy God will hold thy right hand, saying unto thee, Fear not; I will help thee. Isaiah 54:17 17 No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper ; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn . This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness is of me, saith the LORD. Psalms 1:1 Psalm 1:1 Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful Psalm 37:23 The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD: and he delighteth in his way. Jer 17:14 Heal me, O LORD, and I shall be healed ; save me, and I shall be saved : for thou art my praise. Luke 10:19 Behold , I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you. Isaiah 11:2 And the spirit of the LORD shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD.

SPEAK THE ANSWER NOT THE PROBLEM. Heavenly father we come in the name of your son, Jesus Christ asking that the BLOOD OF JESUS cover every pastor, Shepherd, Apostle, Bishop, Evangelist. prophets and prophetess and religious leader. We apply the Blood of Jesus to their physical bodies every cell, tissue, arteries, vein, muscle, organ, and system. We send the word of healing and strength to them. We call forth the ministering angels to minister to them now. We bind up fatigue, weariness, burn out, disillusion, hurts, and disappointments. We send the word of healing to their emotions and speak victory in every area of their lives - we command emotional healing. We speak to their inner man to be strengthen in the might of God, receive encouragement, hope, love, and joy. We speak to the mind that their minds are being renewed and transformed, the peace of God saturates their minds, they hear clearly the voice of God, your hand is upon their lives, you lead them in a plain path, you give them revelation knowledge, courage to speak the truth, teach them how to come in and out among your people, surround them with wise counselors, provide provision for the vision. You give them insight, foresight, hindsight, cause them to be enlighten. They speak the truth, they show your people the error of their ways, expose the enemy, they speak your word and nothing else. Your signs and wonders follow them, the five fold ministry is alive and in operation in their lives, homes and ministries. You give the increase in finances, members and supernaturally meet every need. We call forth the warring angels to stand with them, surround them with fire of God, keep them free from shame and disgrace, keep them with a repenting heart, let your conviction rest upon them, clothe them in sanctification and perfume them with holiness. You give them wisdom, knowledge, skill and understanding and your fear rest upon them. Holy Ghost you guide and direct them in every area regarding your church that you have entrusted to them, give clear direction in legal matters. Your blood cover every contract they entered into and you compel contractors to do that which is right and honorable, providing excellence in workmanship. Father you bring healing, deliverance and salvation to their families. We decree and declare balance in their lives and they spend quality time in your presence, at your feet, under the shadow of your wings, you are the wind beneath their wings and you lift them where the eagles flies, keep them from hurt and harm. Above all, your praises are continually in their mouths, they serve you with all of their mind, heart, soul, and might. They understand the power of praise and worship and they are Worshipers and seekers of you. They never forget that it is not by power or might but by your holy spirit. So Holy spirit you allow no other spirit to rule over them, no sin to overtake them and you lead them to the secret place. We thank you that you give us pastors after your own heart that seeks you with every fiber of their being. The liquid oil of your anointing rain down upon them, when they speak it is with the compelling power of the Holy Ghost and men, women, boys and girls receive salvation. We will not harm them with negative words but will intercede for them. We therefore call forth prayer warriors, intercessors to be appointed on their behalf that will not cease to pray for them. They are concerned about your sheep and feed them with knowledge and truth. For this cause, we bow our knees to you, lift up our hands and worship you because all power belongs to you and we thank you for our shepherd.
