Do you know how to pray effectively? A formula that I have found guarantees results in prayer. The formula is simple and involves the combination of prayer, God's word, and faith that God will honor his word. My motto for praying is: Speak the answer not the problem. The answer is in the word of God. God is so awesome and in his wisdom, his word covers every aspect of our lives and therefore an answer for our situations.

Sometimes we confuse complaining with praying. An example of complaining: God my rent is due; I don't know what to do. My husband don't love me, my children won't obey me. I am so sick in my body and the test results are not good. Please God help me. This sounds like you singing the blues.

An example using the formula ( prayer,God's word and faith): Heavenly father, thank you for being my God that provides for all of my needs. I agree with your word today that I shall not want because you are the good shepherd you take care of me. My husband loves me as he does himself and I reverence him. My children are obedient and rise up and call me bless. I bless you for all the benefits you have given me through the stripes on your body; you forgive my iniquities and heal my body. I run to you and am safe for you are a present help. I bow down and worship you for you are worthy and all power belongs to you.

Let us take a close look at this formula. You will notice the first thing you do is give thanks. From a natural standpoint, you have a better chance of getting what you want from someone if you at least acknowledge the help that have been in the past or something positive about them. Likewise, when we approach the throne of God we should do so with thanksgiving before presenting our petitions to him.

Complaining does not move the hand of God. His word moves him to work on our behalf because he honors his word and watches over it to ensure that it accomplishes what he send it to do. Learn to pray the word over your situation. Speak the answer not the problem. The problem - my rent is due I don't know what to do. Let us look at the word that was applied in the second prayer. heavenly father. Psalms 23:1, Phil 4:6-7 & 19,1 Peter 5:7,

Problem: my husband doesn’t love me. The Word - Gen 2:18,Eph 5:22-28, Hebrews 13;4,Mark 10:6-9,Proverbs 31. Problem: my children will not obey me. The Word -Proverbs 6 22:Proverbs 18:10,Deu 6:2-5, Proverbs 31:28, JER 18:6. Problem: sick in my body. The Word: Psalms 30:2, 103, 107:20, 118:17, Isaiah 53;1-6, 54:17.

FAITH: when you find the scripture that applies to your situation, you must believe according to Hebrews 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is , and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. Then confess out the promises of God until you see change. Prayer, the word of God and Faith is the powerful combination that knocks the enemy out.

SPEAK THE ANSWER NOT THE PROBLEM. THE ANSWER IS IN THE WORD OF GOD. Heavenly father we thank you for your precious word. Your word is life, health, strength; Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path. Holy Spirit reveal the word of God to us that we may know how to apply it to our lives and walk in the authority of your word and the power of the shed blood of Jesus to defeat the enemy. We confess your word over every situation in our lives with the assurance that you back up your word and it will not fail us.
