A Letter from God – Popes, Protestants and Rebels

Much to the chagrin of the liberals it seems the Catholics have chosen a standard bearer Pope in the conservative vein and should be congratulated for this move in a day when liberal leanings are attacking foundations around the world.

Since the election of Pope Francis (Jorge Mario Bergoglio) the old argument about apostolic succession has risen yet again like Italy’s Mount Vesuvius between the Protestant and Catholic faithful – can it be settled?

Exactly who is the Rock?

Volumes have been written on the difference between the New Testament words “Petros” and “Petra,” and another treatment of that difference in one short article, will hardly resolve the argument for all posterity. FULL POST

Sacrificing Souls on the Altar of Political Correctness

On March 5, 2013, a You Tube video showed up in which late night comedian Jimmy Kimmel introduces a new segment to his show called “The confusing question of the day.”

The first question for the new segment is “What do you think about Obama pardoning the sequester and sending it to Portugal?”

The answers given are all stunning and are capped off by the answer provided by two African American girls at the end of the segment. Their answer was, “Sequester - what; I just voted for him because he was black!”

The answers are hard to believe, but so is the fact that people actually gave Kimmel’s team permission to use their faces on public TV. This is a case of dumb and dumber, the answers being very dumb, but are nothing compared to the idea of letting the whole world see just how dumb you look on a show that reaches millions every night of the week.

The video is indeed funny, but very sad at the same time. It reminds us that of the 62 million people who just voted to have the worst President in American history go round for another four years have no way of seeing that the economy, the military, religious liberties and other freedoms and the nation itself may well pass into oblivion before they learn how to spell sequester, much less explain what it is. ‘Killing Allegory’ – A New York Times Bestseller?

Fox anchor Bill O’Reilly and his co-author Martin Durgard recently signed to write “Killing of Jesus.” The excitement and anticipation has peaked a lot of Americans since O’Reilly’s Killing Lincoln and Killing Kennedy have both been a great success.

The hope of new blood being infused into the narrative of Jesus Christ’s life and ministry has since met with apoplexy since O’Reilly’s interview with Actress Roma Downey (Touched by an Angel) and husband Mark Burnett on the Factor.

O’Reilly said the New Testament contradicts itself and that “a lot of the Bible is allegorical,” which Roma and Mark refused to concede saying they believed that the entire Bible is completely inspired by God and totally trustworthy.

Is it man or the Bible that contradicts?

The Apostle Paul said “All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness,” (2Tim 3:16) but O’Reilly has chosen to contradict that, and join those who think the bible is only inspired in spots, and they need to hope they are inspired enough to spot the spots. Judgment: The Last Thing on Our Minds

“It's a lesson too late for the learning - Made of sand, made of sand” Tom Paxton: The Last thing On My Mind.

Researching the subject of judgment and asking others what their perceptions of the coming judgments are, it was surprising to see that even believers (with rare exceptions) do not have a clear picture of what it is and when it is supposed to take place.

Such gross ignorance of the subject is unfathomable since there are 716 variations of the term ‘judgment’ to be found in both the New and Old Testament. What is abundantly clear is that almost everyone has some knowledge on the subject, but only a few have a picture of when, why and what the judgments will be.

There are four distinct categories of judgment. One has been ongoing for centuries, the next comes and goes throughout various periods in history and the last two are impending, but are events promised by God and for most students of prophecy they are seen as being - at the doors. FULL POST

The Prophetic Implications of Pope Benedict’s Resignation

Any understanding of Benedict’s resignation must begin with the simple fact that not all people are Catholic and not all Christians are Catholic.

Of the 2.3 billion Christians in the world only about half, 1.1 billion are Catholic. Non-Catholics are made up of Orthodox, Anglicans, historic Protestant denominations and Independents.

If we refer ourselves to each respective Christian religion to determine who exactly is a real Christian, we will find that each sect has a definition that would exclude everyone out side of their own definition.

Of far greater importance is the fact that while almost all of them claim the use of the Bible, the bible has its own definition of what makes a true Christian. The bible declares that only those who have been ‘born again’ (Jn 3: 3) are Christians. Without entering a theological maze it suffices to say that there are real Christians in every sect, but the numbers and the specifics of that delineation is known only to God himself. FULL POST

Colin Powell is Right – Sometimes our Questions are Idiotic

Fox newsman Bill O’Reilly sees himself as a patriot and a culture warrior and thusly, he asks liberals, democrats and a plethora of lefty loons, extremists and wobbly wherewithals’, some unusual questions. They are supposed to be hard questions, which almost no one else will ask.

O’Reilly, like so many Americans today, often does not ask the hard questions at all; for the two most obvious reasons. First, neither he, nor those he questions; know what the questions are.

An evangelist who once preached in the New England area some years ago headlined his meetings with the phrase, “If Jesus is the Answer – Then what are the Questions.” It was a great lead in to his message. It is the question that everyone should consider before they put forth the idea that their particular moral, political or worldview has all the answers for America’s societal woes and failures.

The second reason is that, like Bill O’Reilly, most people are what the Bible refers to as ‘respecters of persons.’ (Acts 10: 34) O’Reilly has repeatedly explained, that in his view, we must quickly adapt to all accepted protocol and show special deference to persons like the president and others in high office – simply because they are in high office. From Russia with Love – Wise up America!

On Jan 26, 2013 Associated Press writer Mike Stobbe popped a piece on the public, strongly suggesting that we should shame the obese into losing weight. The story was carried by Fox and a few MSM outlets, and some have made jokes about the possibility that Mayor Bloomberg could head the effort to shame the fatties, to supplement his war on 16oz soft drinks.

Breitbart journalist, John Nolte, responded with a scathing rebuke of the AP piece and said, “Under no circumstance would these insufferable elites ever look to "pretty up" society through the "shaming" of drug addicts, alcoholics, sexual degenerates, lazy welfare leeches, or any others who loot the treasury and spread much more human misery than nicotine and ice cream. And anyone who suggested such a thing would immediately be branded a bully by the very same elites now testing the waters to bully-by-shame the overweight.”

Wikipedia has outdone all dictionary def’s with this description of shame, excerpted from Helen B. Lewis, Shame and guilt in neurosis, published by International University Press. FULL POST

Obama 2013 Inaugural Speech – The Violable Vision of the Un-vetted

The Liberal’s Opinion

Within hours of Barack Obama’s inaugural speech varying opinions fell like a hard rain in the jungle. Chris Matthews wasted no time comparing Obama’s 2095 word speech to Lincoln’s Gettysburg Address. Matthews did not say, as at other times, that he felt tingles go up his legs, but he was apparently satisfied that his icon-idol, made him proud.

The Conservative’s Opinion

GOP strategist Karl Rove was less than impressed and concluded that Obama’s aim was to make the Republicans “look extreme.” Inasmuch as wanting to see Americans go back to work, save their homes and see the government spending come to a screeching halt, we are all extremists in the wake of Obama’s first four years of actions – all of his speeches notwithstanding.

Newt Gingrich split Obama’s speech into two sections. He said about 80 percent was fair while 20 percent of the speech was pure “Goofy Left-Wingism.” Gingrich also declared that Obama’s section on climate change is total nonsense. Gingrich said in a Newsmax report Jan 21, 2013, “The great energy revolution we’re living through is called ‘oil and gas.” FULL POST

Internet or the Heart – Which is the Land of Shadows?

O’Reilly Factor contributors McGuirk and Gutfeld discussed everything from Obama’s gun proposals to Notre Dame’s Manti Te’o on Friday January 18, 2013. No one is happy with Lance Armstrong, Obama or the football superstar, but it was the viewer emails that stole the spotlight.

A Pastor from Duncan, Washington said, “Bill, great Talking Points Memo; do not let the machines take over your lives. I have preached on this very thing. Evil flourishes in the shadows. The Internet is full of shadows.”

Speaking with less foreboding, George Alexander from Sydney Australia exclaimed, “The Internet is not a machine. It's a means of communication. A rather bizarre Talking Points. What's tomorrow? Fear of the telephone?”

No one could deny that the internet is a land of shadows filled with scams, conspiracies, nonsense, porn, and drivel. But then we are reminded that most of the nation’s major newspapers now have online editions and when all else fails sometimes the only way to get an unbiased story is to search the web. Comparisons can be made quickly, and liberal media cannot hold out their biases for very long because of the instant cross references provided by the internet. FULL POST

From Carrying the Cross to Bearing the Sword – Is it the Same Jesus?

Polls have indicated that only 37 percent of Americans now believe that homosexuality is a perverted and sinful practice. Most of those examining this latest excursion in PC acquired morality or immoralities, (depending on who you ask) agree that it is caused by a combination of three influences.

First, is President Obama’s declaration that he believes all is well with the practice of homosexuality and gay marriage. Second is the apostate (falling) church that would rather give in to anti-biblical doctrine rather than stand up for what they have been taught and commanded. Lastly is the years’ long campaign of the LGBT to induct everyone from kindergartners to ministers of the gospel into the new wave of gay acceptance. Hollywood and mainstream media is the right arm of the movement, but now even intrusion into academic curriculum and legislative process is being harangued into implementing the gay agenda.

According to scripture the deep rooted driving force behind the dive into super-immorality comes directly from the god of this world, sometimes called the ruler of the cosmos (world system of evil,) more commonly known as the devil.

To those well versed in eschatology and last days prophecies, there is no surprise that this wave is gaining acceptance. Although not welcomed, it is only part and parcel to the prophetic warnings of a world spiraling out of control and approaching the very judgments of God. FULL POST
