Apostasy – The Place where Religion and Revelation Part Company

The headlines are filled daily with news of some new trend in the church where social norms are supplanting both scriptural doctrine and traditions. Among the old line historic denominations apostasy is ramping up at an alarming rate.

While we have been warned that apostasy is part and parcel to the last days prophecies that precede the return of Christ, it is still difficult to watch the steadiest of the churches dissimulate, disintegrate and fade into a sort of colorless gray blob of social interaction with secularism, guided by and over run with pop-culture thinking.

The Apostle Paul provided warning, but little consolation, concerning the apostasy. Paul said, “Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition” (2Th 2: 3)

Paul obviously did not mean to console us with this warning, but he did mean to prepare us. In fact along with the news events of the day the falling churches are perfect indicators of exactly how close we are to the second coming of Christ. FULL POST

Hollywood’s Denial and Blatant Hypocrisy on Guns

Arnold Schwarzenegger is the latest Hollywood star to chime in on guns and gun control. Like many Hollywood actors he is standing in the line marked “we had nothing to do with it” as far as personal responsibility or even tacit culpability is concerned.

Schwarzenegger has starred in films such as, “Predator,” and “The Terminator” which are loaded with gun violence. His next offering of gratuitous and graphic violence is called, “The Last Stand.” NRA’s chief Wayne La Pierre has noted that the new film is loaded with unnecessary violent depictions of a sheriff who is trying to stop drug cartels from slipping over the border.

Let’s see - the head of the Rifle Association saying there is too much violence in films - while the actor paid millions of dollars to show the world the worst men can do with guns says - it just ain’t so!

Schwarzenegger claims the blame, and any chance of solving the violence problems of the nation, lies with mental health improvements, gun laws and parents. No changes are needed in Hollywood. The sainted celebrities are simply – entertaining us.

No statistics are available to show what percentage of people there are which cannot discern between fantasy and reality and those whose mental integrity, needed to categorize the real from the feigned, is below the safety line, but it is clear that Hollywood has no plans to acknowledge or accommodate such reports even if they did exist. Barack Obama: A Clear Case of Identity Crisis

Reprobation is a condition of moral confusion that the scriptures say will be pervasive in the last days of time as we know it. (Romans 1: 27-32) It is a result of spiritual deprivation which always accompanies moral decline according to every historical record of man. Nations rise and fall on the outcome of this powerful and recurring social and spiritual malady.

In this clouded nether region of convoluted thinking, identifying exactly who leaders are is part and parcel to the confusion entire generations have, concerning their own identities. Teens are thought to rebel and act out largely because they are struggling to ascertain their own identities.

We are not sure if politicians are crooks or statesmen, republicans or RINO’s. Is the cop a public servant or a mobster; is the teacher an educator or a molester? Is the sports hero a role model or a drug abuser? Our failure to properly identify people is often discovered far too late. Is it too late to discover who is leading us today, or who led us to the truth in the past? We are moving dangerously close to a simple – yes - on that question. Let’s see. FULL POST

Prophecy Has No Entertainment Value but Piers Morgan Does

During an interview with mega-pastor Rick Warren on CNN host Piers Morgan has exclaimed that the Bible and the U.S. Constitution are ‘inherently flawed.’ Perhaps Morgan, like many liberals of the day are tired of being told that it is they, along with the rest of humanity, which are inherently flawed with something the Bible calls the sin nature. (Romans 3: 23)

No one escapes this moral malady, but many today would like to have it all be explained away by scientists, apostate ministers and priests and every yellow journalist that jubilantly justifies their jaundiced junk jibe through the media, and the internet. But according to the Bible, the message will not go away until the very return of the Lord Jesus Christ in victory.

After adopting swelling titles and tagging their names with letters, the scientist, who can neither prove or disprove the existence of God, have broken out to become the high priests and ultimate authorities of all things.

God cannot fit into the three pound mass of gray matter that resides atop their shoulders, but they presume to gather all the secrets of the universe in this receptacle and proceed to divulge such things as the origin of species, the big bang theory and the ever expanding universe. With or without being able to prove their own conclusions they have authorized themselves quite beyond the doubting or disputations of the dumbed down minions, proselytes and victims of the Dewey system of modern education they haply lead. Christmas Speaks to the Evolutionist

The Big Bang theory recently took a big bang itself at the discovery of a galaxy that is almost all black holes according to scientists at the University of Texas in Austin. The discovery punches some serious black holes in the assumption that the universe developed spontaneously without outside or intelligent intervention.

This is only one of hundreds of new discoveries made by creation scientists in the last few decades that have loaded a preponderance of proof onto the side of intelligent design. So why aren’t evolutionists taking a look see?

Evolutionists operate much like a big city police department without an IA division, (internal affairs) and they will not put watchdogs on their own. It is from this poorly monitored group of scientist, anthropologists, paleontologists’ et al, which produce untested, un-proven and at times unbelievable conclusions, that are marred by the three great P’s, that most of today’s claims regarding origins is made.

The first is ‘prior philosophic postulation,’ a term I probably use too often, but describes a mindset rather than a real scientific discipline based on repeatable, observable and recordable phenomena. What this means is that many conclusions are based simply on deductive reasoning, speculation and glorified guesswork. FULL POST

Christmas and Abortion – The Oil and Water of Our Generation

In a few days we will observe Christmas for 2012. For many Americans this Christmas is just a bit sadder than previous years. The terrible event that took place in an elementary school in Connecticut has sobered the season, and surely, no one who has heard of it, has not been emotionally moved in some way.

A writer in Poland took a great deal of criticism when he likened the abortions in that country to the lost children in the Sandy Hook School. Long before I heard of the Polish writers remarks I said this in my last article entitled, “Sandy Hook Shooting: Let’s Dump the Psychological Doubletalk.”

“Be it Sandy Hook or Roe v. Wade - is deciding that some human beings will not be allowed to take their first breath - any less horrid than deciding which ones should take their last?”

Yes, I do believe that if we banned the doctor’s saline solutions, needles, forceps and scalpels found in America’s abortion clinics we would save more lives than banning guns. Sixty million lives lost to abortion since 1973 is the proof that my math is correct. FULL POST

Sandy Hook Shooting: Let’s Dump the Psychological Doubletalk

Out of respect for the little souls who were brutally murdered and their families this piece will make no mention of any of them or their families. Suffice it to say that they have suffered enough. These children and those who tried to protect them, some at the cost of their own lives, have done nothing wrong, but we, as a society have plenty to answer for.

Now, a new kind of suffering is being laid upon them, as media crews from all over the nation and the world will be prying into their lives and forcing them to re-live scenes of horror, sights and sounds, all to extract every gory detail for their exclusives, stories and news items. The competition to tell, that comes from hell, has begun.

It is impossible not to be somewhere between incensed and irate after hearing the rap between Fox’s O’Reilly and some of the so called psychology experts on the night the shooting took place. O’Reilly was entangled with one expert on the semantic difference between a psychopath and a sociopath. Interspersed throughout the dialogue was an exasperated, throw in the towel declaration, voiced repeatedly by O’Reilly who said “It’s just pure evil, and I guess you just can’t stop it.” FULL POST

Beautiful Star of Bethlehem – It Will Shine Again

Before you drop your jaw in incredulity and call for your spouse to come see what some crazy preacher is espousing lets clarify. The very Star of Bethlehem described in Matthews Gospel will not actually shine again. But another bright light will grace the earth and no one will miss it.

Stars come in various sizes, shapes, ages and brilliance. It is their brightness that is the most noted of all their attributes. Astronomers still engage a system for measuring the brightness of a star that was developed by one of their own named Hipparchus at about 120 BC. The scale he developed rates the brilliance of stars from 1 to 6. One is the brightest and six the faintest. The brightest stars are said to be of the first magnitude. The brightest star in the skies today is Sirius and it is rated a 1.42. Hipparchus method of rating the luminescence of the stars is used to this very day.

The Star of Bethlehem falls outside of Hipparchus method. It was apparently a one time event. It was never seen before and there is little reason to believe it will ever happen again. The account of the Star of Bethlehem is found only in the second chapter of the Gospel of Matthew. FULL POST

Will the Mayan Calendar Wreck Your Christmas?

Using tongue-in-cheek for a title may lead you to believe that we are going to have a little fun with a very serious matter. It could be, if the Mayan calendar were something we should all be taking seriously – but it is not. The reason is simple; God Doesn’t Use the Mayan, Julian, Gregorian or Jewish calendar.

Life doesn’t always give us warnings and almost no catastrophe can be penciled into the calendar. Usually the possibility of sudden calamities is spoken of as common sayings, pet fears or rumors. In time most are dismissed as nonsense. When Jesus warned that the last days would be as the days of Noah, he seemed to indicate that nothing unusual would be afoot. Marriage, eating, drinking et al were mentioned, but little else. It would be life as usual, everyday stuff followed by more everyday stuff.

“But as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.” (Mt 24: 37 – 39) FULL POST

Wickedness – An Old Term Comes Home to Roost

Much like the TV and electronic main stream media, today’s journalism has taken a dive into the spurious and doubtful. Left loonies and liberal sympathizers seem to have elevated political correctness to a level, that in some circles, seems to supplant every moral guide or ethical substructure we have ever known. The entertainment industry and Hollywood take up the rear with ever more sleaze and debauch and what emerges next is not just close to blasphemy, it is by the loosest definition, pure evil and gross blasphemy.

We have in a single generation managed to give rise to the re-birth of what the Bible calls ‘wickedness.’ The word evil appears in scripture over 700 times, but her sister ‘wickedness’ and the word ‘wicked’ are used 571 times in scripture. It is a word that rarely appears in today’s journalism. It is the antithesis of political correctness. It is the ancient way of calling a spade a spade and identifying evil for exactly what it is. Guess what – it’s back.

Yet, it is the only word that appropriately describes the evil emerging today under the banner of science, secularism, education and of course politics. One example that stands out the most is noted by Blog Talk radio host Doug Hagmann in a scathing article entitled ‘Psychiatry as a weapon to silence religious and political opposition’ published in Canada Free Press, August 12, 2012. Hagmann notes that the ‘political abuse of psychiatry’ was a major tool of the old communism in the Soviet Union for the suppression of anyone who opposed the sociopolitical ideologies of the day because of religious or moral beliefs.
