Atheist-turned-Christian Lee Strobel is best known as the author of his "case for" series: Three books and three DVD documentaries by the same titles. They should be read (or viewed) in this order:
- The Case for a Creator: A Journalist Investigates Scientific Evidence That Points toward God. Grand Rapids, MI: Zondervan, 2004. Introductory overview of the implications of science for the theism vs. atheism debate. Also watch Strobel's The Case for a Creator documentary DVD.
- The Case for Christ (book and DVD)
- The Case for Faith (book and DVD)
You can order the books and DVDs in bulk here (including a set of all three DVDs in one large case). Amazon even has the Kindle version of The Case for Faith for $1.99 (that is the best deal I have ever seen for this book).
Why invest in these 3 DVDs and 3 books? They provide a compelling cumlative case for Christianity that begins with scientific evidence for design, and then moves into the historical evidence that the biblical God is the creator and savior through Christ, and finally philosohical and other related arguments for the uniqueness of Christianity and its answer to the problem of evil and other vexing questions.
Strobel's own website includes this biographical information:
Atheist-turned-Christian Lee Strobel, the former award-winning legal editor of The Chicago Tribune, is a New York Times best-selling author of more than twenty books and serves as Professor of Christian Thought at Houston Baptist University.
Described in the Washington Post as "one of the evangelical community's most popular apologists," Lee shared the Christian Book of the Year award in 2005 for a curriculum he co-authored with Garry Poole about the movie The Passion of the Christ. He also won Gold Medallions for The Case for Christ, The Case for Faith, and The Case for a Creator, all of which have been made into documentaries distributed by Lionsgate.

To see Lee Strobel interact with other theists and atheists, watch Does the God of Christianity exist, and what difference does it make? A panel debate with William Lane Craig, Christopher Hitchens, Douglas Wilson, Lee Strobel, Jim Dennison. Sponsored by The Christian Book Expo and Christianity Today - March, 2009.
Learn more about Strobel through this collection of resources assembled by Brian Auten. See the interview there that includes this:
As a former atheist and professional journalist, Lee became a Christian after investigating the evidence for Jesus. The purpose of our interview today is to learn a bit more about Lee's background, ask him about his experience as an apologist and what advice he has for apologists, and find out what his current projects are. Well, thanks for joining me today Lee!
