The New War on Humans and February/April 2014 Events that Oppose this War

text size A A A

The new War on Humans website asks:

Are humans the enemy? Should pigs and plants be given constitutional rights? The War on Humans e-book and companion documentary explore how a new generation of activists are pushing a radical agenda whose ultimate victims may be the poorest and most vulnerable among us.

On Monday, February 3, watch the free premiere of The War on Humans, a provocative documentary from Discovery Institute that explores the growing disparagement of the value of human beings -- in the name of saving the planet. The premiere will be at Northwest University in Kirkland, WA. Register now. Or, watch the full documentary at YouTube when it premieres during the week of February 17, 2014. Find the documentary YouTube link at the War on Humans website when it is available. Watch the trailer now (scroll one screen down to find it there).

The War on Humans documentary investigates the views of anti-human activists who would grant legal rights to animals, plants, and "Mother Earth," and who want to reduce the human population by up to 90%. The documentary features Discovery Institute Senior Fellow Wesley Smith, whose companion e-book of the same title will be published later in February.

Other scholars interviewed for the film include Discovery Institute Senior Fellow Richard Weikart, author of From Darwin to Hitler; Discovery Institute Senior Fellow Dr. John West, author of Darwin Day in America; and Biologic Institute biologist Dr. Ann Gauger, co-author of Science and Human Origins.

Is there evidence of intelligent design that is scientifically rigorous? Why does it matter? Part of the rationale for the "war on humans" is the materialistic philosophy that declares "no intelligence is allowed" in the causes that scientists invoke to explain the origin of life and the basic kinds of life (including humans). Attend the Westminster Conference on Science and Faith to investigate these questions further. Here is what the conference website says:

Explore these questions and more at the fifth annual Westminster Conference on Science and Faith on April 11-12, 2014 at Covenant Fellowship Church in the greater Philadelphia area. This year’s theme is “Science and Design” and features speakers such as biochemist Michael Behe and mathematician and philosopher William Dembski, both prominent intelligent design advocates, as well as other distinguished scholars.

Dr. Michael Behe is Professor of Biological Science at Lehigh University in Pennsylvania and Senior Fellow at Discovery Institute’s Center for Science and Culture. Dr. Behe’s research explores the limits of natural selection. His first book, Darwin’s Black Box, explains how “irreducibly complex” biochemical systems pose a serious problem for Darwinian evolution, a concept that has garnered international attention. Dr. William Dembski is also a Senior Fellow of Discovery Institute’s Center for Science and Culture and has published numerous articles in mathematics, philosophy, and theology journals, and has authored or contributed to over twenty books including The Design Inference and The Nature of Nature.
