Abortion activists love their folklore. Women. Hangers. Millions of deaths. None of it’s true, but it sure sounds scary in a sound bite. Planned Parenthood’s own Medical Director, Dr. Mary Calderone, in a 1959 article decrying the lack of social acceptance of abortion declared: “Abortion is no longer a dangerous procedure…90% of all illegal abortions are presently being done by physicians. Many of these physicians are in good standing in their communities.” FULL POST

History. It’s disposable. Too many people use it to bolster a cause and then quickly discard it when its inconvenient truths call that effort into question. March is Women’s History Month. Americans celebrate the courage and tenacity of those who’ve made the world a better place. We should take the opportunity to pause and intentionally look closer at the totality of these women’s lives. Understanding their motivation, what sustained their passion, and how such indelible marks along the human timeline have been made, is simply powerful.

Here is a tale of two women with amazingly similar beginnings. I’ll allow history to speak for itself so you can see where their chosen journeys have brought them.

My mother, Andrea Bomberger, grew up poor. She had an alcoholic father who was verbally and emotionally abusive to her mother. The marriage was dysfunctional, to say the least, and it put a young girl in a situation of temporary abandonment at the age of five. While her parents split, Andrea was placed in a faith-based home for children called Christ’s Home in Paradise. For nearly a year as her parents tried to sort out their tumultuous relationship, she became, in essence, an orphan. Although Andrea’s parents would visit her separately, at least she had visitors. There was one girl in particular who suffered with physical deformities and for the entire duration never had one visitor. She never had anyone to hug, hold, or tell her that she was loved. Today marks the birth of one of the most remarkable individuals in American history. Abraham Lincoln, born into poverty, lived a life of greatness that is too often reduced in its significance in today’s popular culture. The Great Emancipator’s words and actions were the catalyst for millions to be able live out their God-given Purpose, eventually freed from the shackles of slavery and inexplicable human degradation.

Today is also the birthday of the NAACP (National Association for the Advancement of Colored People), which formed on this day February 12, 1909. But unlike Lincoln, whose worldview was shaped by the great abolitionist Frederick Douglass (a slave born of rape but a man defined by limitless possibility), the NAACP has allowed itself to be shaped by an ideology that seeks control, conformity, and confusion as it advocates the destruction of beautiful Possibility every day. Black History Month should be a time of celebration of achievement as well as an honest reflection on the impediments to freedom for all. As we look at those whose lives changed history, it’s quite evident that these champions for freedom have predominantly risen from the most impoverished and seemingly impossible situations. Civil rights leader Fannie Lou Hamer is one of many who broke through the generational shackles of poverty to live a life devoted to helping free others from the same bondage.

Fannie Lou (Townshend) Hamer was born into poverty in 1917 (the youngest of 20 children), which according to Planned Parenthood’s philosophy, was a circumstance worthy of eliminating her. Since the age of 6, she worked in the cotton fields with her sharecropping family and was forced to leave school at the age of 12. FULL POST

By now, everyone knows that mainstream media once again neglected its duty to inform the American public. Most turned a blind eye to the hundreds of thousands that participated in the March for Life on Friday, January 25th in DC. The MSM was sure to cover the barely one thousand anti-gun/anti-2nd Amendment protestors who assembled at the same National Mall. ABC News, and many media outlets, oddly highlighted Newark Mayor Corey Booker for his deep humanity in his “heroic” act to save the life of a freezing dog! Way to cover the important stuff.

MSNBC hasn't been silent on the abortion issue at all, though. Granted, they've taken the 40th Anniversary of Roe to heavily promote it through many hosts like Maddow, Melissa Harris-Perry, and Toure. They even invited the largest abortion chain’s spokesperson, Planned Parenthood President Cecile Richards, to discuss the need to increase access to abortion (as if there's any lack of access now). Toure "thanked God for abortion" as he explained he was in a "committed" relationship when his girlfriend got pregnant. But he knew she wasn't "the one". So much for "commitment". She had an abortion. He thanks God. FULL POST

In light of Martin Luther King Jr. Day, it’s important to take an honest look at our past. History has a way of illuminating basic truths. To a certain degree, we can look at documented events and understand how we’ve arrived at our present. This is why history, for many political pundits, must be controlled and revised. There’s a potency in that, often, easily discoverable truth, that unmasks liberals and exposes a past they so desperately want to hide. What better way to keep people in captivity than to convince them to stay on the ideological plantation?

There is a well-understood behavioral protocol in the black community where groupthink assures you inclusion. If one dares to veer off the ideological path, retribution is harsh. The masters, both black and white, won’t allow the superficial cohesion to come undone. Despite all of the evidence that decades of liberal social policies have wreaked havoc on families in every inner-city in America, the inevitable demonization for those who challenge the status quo is enough to silence most dissenters.

Martin Luther King Jr. once said: "Our lives begin to end the day we're silent about things that matter." I’ve never been good at being quiet.

Socially, the majority of black Americans are conservative on major issues, especially abortion. Yet these core beliefs are not reflected in the political actions of the black community. What explains this dissonance? Fear of defying the established, yet immensely flawed, precepts of liberalism keep too many from escaping to the north. Pundits, like media agitators Lawrence O’Donnell, Roland Martin, Tavis Smiley, Janeane Garofolo, and Keith Olbermann, make sure the fugitives are kept in check. FULL POST

What better way for an out-of-touch liberal organization to celebrate itself than in the land of make believe? The NAACP’s 44^th Annual Image Awards honor black imagery churned out by often racist, anti-Christian, perpetually sexist, violent and pornographic Hollywood. Just skim the list of nominees and one is left with an overwhelming feeling: emptiness.

Django Unchained, with its graphic violence and 100 plus uses of the racially denigrating epithet, “nigger”, gets praise and nominations from the NAACP. “Lincoln”, a powerful film of historical substance, completely eliminates the most potent influence in Lincoln’s ideology and evolution on slavery—Frederick Douglass. There’s no protest from the NAACP, just a nomination. FULL POST

Mainstream media has one foundational truth: the objective of journalism is not to be objective. Bias is an inherent part of today’s news organizations that, unapologetically, reveal their agenda with articles of advocacy and misrepresentation.

This is not just a characteristic of U.S. news operations, but a destructive flaw affecting news media worldwide. For instance, what ties the New York Times and the Irish Times together? When it comes to abortion, it’s their aversion to the truth that makes them “journalistic” twins. Both desperately convey abortion as merely a religious issue, led solely (according to their narrative) by Catholic bishops. Each news outfit refuses to show the true face of the Prolife movement: cross-generational, cross-cultural, cross-denominational, and filled with lots of informed and passionate women and young people. The Radiance Foundation believes that some of the best things in life are "unplanned".

An unplanned pregnancy. A courageous teenage mother. A father who chose adoption over abandonment. This is Christmas. Without this scenario, we wouldn’t be honoring the most history-altering moment for humanity.

Christ’s birth could not have been orchestrated by man or woman. From the human side of the equation, it was entirely unplanned. And that’s just like many instances in our own lives. No matter how hard we try, we’re always colliding with moments of unexpected challenges.

And the world has become a more inspiring place because of people who, despite the seemingly impossible, embraced the hardship, the pain, the confusion, and the unknown to journey through the unscripted in order to craft triumphant story lines. FULL POST
